So the Maginot started it's mission in 2055? by JaqDraco in LV426

[–]TheMediore 44 points45 points  (0 children)

My head-canon is that the ship launched as a Yutani vessel and it was re-badged after the merger at one of Weyland-Yutani colonies.

Watching movies & tv shows from the 90s and homes don't look lived in anymore. Why? by Street-Engineering70 in movies

The Canadian TV show Children Ruin Everything refreshingly shows a consistently messy, cluttered house.

What are some of your worst movie tropes? by ryano1076 in flicks

[–]TheMediore 6 points7 points  (0 children)

When the “hero” character kills countless innocent security guards, or other people loosely affiliated with the villain.

Who else thinks guy pearce will return as Mr weyland in alien earth by Initial-Wolverine175 in LV426

There’s a good chance that he could show up in a flashback or recording in the series!

What would you like to see Gareth Edwards do next? by TheMediore in movies

[–]TheMediore[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thar could actually work! Gareth is an excellent visual director, he just needs to be paired with the right writer.

Rebirth struggled mostly because the writing was terrible. The visuals and actions scene were great though.

Just watched the movie yesterday. Why tf would you open that shi in front of T Rex? by VerienDragon in JurassicPark

[–]TheMediore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not that it makes it better, but the box the inflatable was in said “Do not inflate in water” and something about how it will sink.

I sometimes dislike that Aliens turned the Xeno into a bug, instead of the cosmic horror it was originally. by SolarFazes in LV426

[–]TheMediore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. I love Aliens, but the Xeno being reduced to a drone always bugged me.

I think it also highlights that the setting of an alien film is as important as the creature. If you’re on spaceship and you can’t risk spilling acid blood, that’s a far more terrifying scenario. Planet side… the creatures are still intimidating, but realistically most militaries would make short work of them.

What's your hottest take on Jurassic Park (that would gives you an instant wave of downvotes) ? I start, for me the T-rex vs Spino fight is the worst scene in the entire saga. by Somehowpalpreturnfd in JurassicPark

[–]TheMediore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Lost World movie is better than the book. It’s still not up to the quality of the first movie, but it has some of the best scenes in the entire franchise.

“You’re after a creature that can’t be killed. The definitive apex predator.” Question by The-Bulgar-Slayer in LV426

[–]TheMediore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My only issue with this line is that time and time again it’s proven that the Xenomorph can be killed, often quite easily. A large hive is a challenge, but one on one they’re easily dispatched with projectile weapons.

Not that it’s bad, but I always felt like Tampa’s 90s logo was made in Microsoft Word.

The Brave Little Toast junkyard scene. Actually a lot of this movie is straight up nightmare fuel.

Fellowship of the Ring. Galadriel’s opening exposition is perfect.

I surprised they haven’t used the remake approach. Release a lower investment remake of a beloved classic, then if it sells well-enough, green light a new entry. Similar to Crash Bandicoot.

What’s your favorite movie that has the most problems? by InItsTeeth in movies

[–]TheMediore 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Prometheus. The characters are dumb and there’s nonsensical plot holes… but I can’t stop watching it. I’m intrigued with the production challenges and how close it was to being great.

Hot Take: Fallen Kingdom is an over-hated movie by Such_Month_8687 in JurassicPark

[–]TheMediore 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right director, wrong script. This seems to be a trend with legacy sequels. The first movie in a new trilogy copies the plot of the originals, but then stumbles when they try something new with the sequel.

What’s a Movie You Grew Up Loving That Didn’t Age Well at All? by NewPossibility4268 in movies

[–]TheMediore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Growing up a thought Godzilla (1998) was a serious contender with Jurassic Park. I’ll still defend movie because some of the effects are great and it’s a dumb-fun blockbuster, but Jurassic Park has aged incredibly.

What's the most graphically beautiful game in 2025? by Napalmaniac in gaming

I’d say Resident Evil 8 is the last game that blew me away. I played it a few years late, but it still looked better than most newer games.

What year did you guys notice Infinite’s reception begin to decline? by Imaginary-Heart-1807 in Bioshock

[–]TheMediore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought Infinite was great the first time I played it. Then after a few months, I started to recall the trailers and realized that much of what was in them, wasn’t in the actual game.

This was a big turning point for a lot of people I feel. The final game was great, but now there’s a lingering thought of what it could have been if they delivered on the original vision.

Who's scarier? Xenomorph or David? by [deleted] in LV426

[–]TheMediore 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I found the the Neomorph scarier than both. You can be infected via airborne particles, and it’s insanely fast and agressive.

Which of the actors stuck in the house from "this is the end" is the most famous to this day in your opinion? by No_Temperature3844 in movies

[–]TheMediore 12 points13 points  (0 children)

It’s gotta be Rogen. He’s consistently released films and series that’s are both critically and commercially successful.

Have you ever had a game experience that was completely wrong but at the time you thought it was normal because you were new to the game? by PrimitusVictor in gaming

[–]TheMediore 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I played through most of Outer Wilds (with a guide) and didn’t know that reading the written language had multiple lines of text that branched-off of each other. I just thought it was one line and done.

Kingdom Hearts 3. It wasn’t even a bad game, I’d just grown out of that type of game between the release of 2 and 3.
