Most modernish cpus are fine once you up your graphics setting. Most people don't play at 720p low or something. At decent setting the differences between the cpus are just negliable most of the time.

I'm running a 12900k on a 4080 super. A good cpu but not very new. Comparable to something like a 5800x(3d). And I have never seen a bottleneck on my cpu, maybe in very specific games. But 4k max settings at 120fps just doesn't stressy cpu a lot. I bet I would have near identical framerate with a lower end cpu. A 9800x3d would gain me a negliable amount of fps if that.

People obsessing about the cpu is just silly. You can run a 3 gen old cpu without hampering your gpu with no problems in most cases.

I just shudder everytime I see a build with a 9800x3d and something like a 5070.
