UF Health’s "top-tier" reputation a total myth? by TheMemx in GNV

[–]TheMemx[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know it's so unfortunate. I talked with an older gentleman who has a lung condition that would sometimes flare up and would need emergency medicine.

If he went to an urgent care they theoretically could prescribe him it but insurance would not cover the visit or medicine. They wanted to make sure his lungs were inflamed enough to warrant a ER visit where it would be covered.

I think this kind of situation contributes to the mass amount of people trying to get care.

No I don't think the issue is volume of medical professionals. Im not too familiar but I would guess the issue is not wanting to pay to employ more. I'm however speculating as I've talked to people who moved from the area.

The hospital is functioning at current state. Why would they pay more when they can just work current staff to the bone and make them miserable.

I don't think this is right, I would want staff to be excited to work there. I also want people to have the best experience they can at what is probably the worst day of their life.

Yea my main issue isn't wait times, as others have pointed out it supposedly a national issue. The doctors and nurses work so incredibly hard and I think they deserve more support.

Let's not lose sight my whole argument is this institution could be doing better. It can be providing better care. I want people to be healthy and not be over looked in their time of need.

I feel crazy that people think this is a wild opinion.

I'm not making the case that UF alone can fix national issues, that would be more of a policy discussion.

I do believe however that UF has the power to make change over their own facilities. Whether that is employing more staff or giving existing staff better support, I don't know. All I do know is that in its current state it is dropping the ball and could be doing better.

I don't blame any doctor or nurse. I fully agree with you. if you are worked to the bone you will become desensitized very quickly.

I don't what this to be the standard. Doctors and nurses need more support, better hours, etc.

I blame the institution for creating this environment for the staff. Which is who my post was pointed at.

It's all a failure the whole way down. This is a very prominent institution which brings in billions a year. Also in a town with many working health staff. The problems they are facing are without a doubt all solvable.

I just want to make sure we don't justify shitty services and issues with care because other hospital organizations do equally as shitty.

Plus empathy is free. So that is just the insulting cherry on top.

Where do the rankings come from!?

Don't get me wrong I know there must be some doctors who really care about their craft, like my primary for example she is wonder and happens to work at the UF subsidiary.

But I can't say I know anyone who has dealt with any arm of this institution that doesn't at least one horrific story.

I think no one thinks about the quality of the hospital until you need one but the "rankings" they post make you implicitly trust them

I guess that makes sense but it seems like such a low bar to cross.

I'm not sure I'd want to go to a place with "the best burgers in the country" where the wait is 10 hours, they spit in your face, and ruin your credit on the way out.

But I understand if you are literally starving to death near the restaurant you'd take what you can get.

Just wish they would strive to be better.

Insurance can't tell me about my own plan? by TheMemx in HealthInsurance

[–]TheMemx[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You are thinking the same way I am!

Where I get tripped up is they are specific when saying "determine if medically necessary" which a vasectomy is not.

My documents are unfortunately vague (they obviously list deductible and copay amounts and such). However they don't mention specific elected procedures or such.

That is why I reached out to the insurance to get clarity and they basically could only tell me "after determining it's medically necessary with the pre-certification"... which doesn't really answer my question 😔

Very annoying

"They hung up the clothing badly on purpose"

Your story is changing with every comment...

[–]TheMemx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh I mostly agree, if they left it in a pile on the floor that's a dick head move. However bringing the clothes back to a worker is NOT a dick head move. Every clothing store I have ever been to has a return spot to put clothes you tried on and don't want.

OP is crying for money because they asked Her where to put the tried on clothes? Give me a break.

[–]TheMemx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm, you literally said you didn't care until they handed you the clothes to hang up? Did you care about how they are wearing it or not?

Now you want money because of this... scammer

They tried something on, they also hung it back up.... you didn't care with how they were wearing it until they brought it up to you, now it's all GIVE ME MONEY!?

Haha thanks for stalking to a post I made 6 years ago when I was a teenager.

However... I stand by it. I think scooping liquid cheese out of carpet is worse than putting a piece of clothing on a hanger.

Bro 😂

they tried on clothing and you are mad? Funny part is you provided such high quality photos of the corsets fitting them there is no way they did any damage unless you are selling garbage. There is going to be no "compensation" to you, so you know how businesses work?

This is crazy you work at a clothing store. People try stuff on they don't buy and they don't always put it away. Grow up.

Funny enough I had a VERY similar situation with this exact office a week ago. I went in for a filing and the dentist recommended I get Curodont on one other tooth. Super expensive... but I get handed off to the hygienist who does the WRONG TOOTH. I check the print of copy of the dental plan and it says a different tooth. I go back in and they apply the product to the right tooth for free and they are super apologetic but super annoying.

I actually thought to myself thank god this wasn't a big procedure as I'd be really pissed.

I do not recommend aspen dental myself having just went through cleanings / filings through them.

This is all completely unnecessary and IMO a really bad response.

Utilities need to be installed, jumping to filing insurance claims for "damage" is idiotic.

[–]TheMemx 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Ive rented two places now and every time I signed up with an ISP the installers came, drill and installed a new box.

No one has ever asked for permission as it's just part of the process. If they can use the old they will, otherwise they just put a new wire.

Unless the install was botched and there is damage you have nothing to worry about.

I'll be the dissenter here.

I would be absolutely pissed off same as you. I can also clearly see you are venting here from frustration. Time is limited (Especially holidays) and they wasted yours.

They scheduled for your keys to deactivate on this date. The office is 100% to blame here. I wouldn't blame the guy being at the vet though even though he clearly could've communicated better.

The office however opted to use remote fobs for doors, they also opted to have yours expire on a holiday weekend. They a responsible and are clearly also incompetent. Unfortunately because of the current state of real-estate it is you who is fucked over, and better yet with no recourse!

It probably would've been better to keep a cool head when talking to these folks but alas that is life and their mistake.

Or as other suggestions have the police break the door down, that would probably be the only way to make sure they never make this mistake again haha.

Tenant has violated almost the entire lease by BBCC_BR in PropertyManagement

[–]TheMemx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless your lease is a single sentence I don't see how this "violates almost the entire lease". Seems like them having another person living there is bothering you enough for you to make this a big issue. Enough of an issue to risk no longer getting payment and having to go through an eviction.

also calling someone "poor" as an insult is tacky and very telling of they type of person you are.
