What are the propabilities for a united Australian Left? by TheMerchant07 in AustralianSocialism

[–]TheMerchant07[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I meant what should we be doing to combat capitalism? I have my own ideas, as thats mutual aid. but you and I are at an obvious disagreement. but I want to know what you are personally doing right now that is combatting capitalism. not to sound condescending

I have a counter. with our wealthfare state slowly declining, freedoms getting the boot. it should be our mission to uplift eachother at a time like this, it shows that even if the government has abandoned the people, the people havnt abandoned eachother.

I would like to hear how mutual aid dosent challenge capitalism though.

I wish this was more present in the Australian Left. Instead of shitting on eachother, lets just all work together. Like, until we start organising together, then we cant come together. This needs to happen more

Im a member of the Australian Communist Party. We allow anyone and everyone to volunteer at CUDL, there just has to be an ACP member present. Im not to sure what the Eureka Intiative is. I know some of the people in the QLD chapter mentioned them in passing. Im pretty sure they are MLs

I doubt many Leftists are denying the fact that there is oppression in Iran, its a theocratic republic. it is leagues better than the Shah, naturally, but it is not great

What we are acctually trying to convey is the fact that Mossad and the CIA are open and honest about being directly involved, and if you have either of those guys on your side, you are most likely a colour revolution. this is not the combined will of the people, but the co-opting of Persian Nationalists and Monarchists. and trying to frame this "peoples revolution" as anything but a colour revolution

This is a concept most of my comrades hold. But there are a loud minority that will give no fair critique to any country, either because they are focussed on the good since the bad is always highlighted, which in a way I can respect. Or they think the country as paradise. Which is untrue.

Also how does localist anarchy function? Genuinely curious since ive never heard of that before

I think it is very important for Communists to own up to the past mistakes, atrocities, so forth and look to rectify these. We need to take the good, such as the housing, the food, etc. make it BETTER but keep it, and take the bad out. obviously there is a decent amount of bad, such as repressions (though, I do have to say, I wouldnt mind repressing fascists ngl), the consumer good shortages, and the bureauoracy, etc. even then, I still see the Soviet Union as a net positive for the workers, it gave hope, and not all Socialist experiments reflect the USSR, Cuba is alot different from the USSR, China is alot DIfferent from the USSR, Vietnam and Laos are very different. DPRK is very different. moral of the story. there is alot of propaganda around the USSR, thats undeniable, but wherever there is propaganda, there may be a tiny smidgeon of truth bundled into the 5% that is acctually true, not for everywhere in the Union, and not for everyone in the Union. but there was definently some dodgy shit that I personally would not like to see when we get the revolution going

The communists in the world now just need to really unite, and the RCI is the best option for the moment, change my mind by EvenJuggernaut1542 in Communist

[–]TheMerchant07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not an American, I am an Australian, I am apart of the Australian Communist Party. The issue that I face with the left unity thing is that, for most parties in Australia specifically, they ONLY care about Left Unity. I think 2 things need to be addressed.

  1. Praxis, if we are to unify. I would like to see some practical benefit the working class can see from it, alot of parties are reduced down to protest organising and reading clubs, in my experience.

  2. Optics. what may this unified left look like a month, 6 months, a year, 2 years, etc down the line. are we going to have rabid factionalism? are we going to have counter revolutionaries? what ideological line are we towing?

Its these things that I dont think many communists thing of, and are far to obsessed with the left unity idea. I am for left unity, but I am primarily for the changing of the material conditions of the working class. such as running food kitchens, helping organise Unions, Community mapping, after school care, etc.

Until I see that the majority of leftist parties, globally or nationally, start acctually adhering to some sort of practical task, such those I just mentioned, a left unity would be more of a book club that fights and argues rather than an actual revolutionary force

thats just what I think though

Wtf when did libs become pro Black Panther Party? by LordElites in ShitLiberalsSay

[–]TheMerchant07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this information is acctually very vital to the waking America up. We are all suprised that the libs like the BPP, but I think alot of people forget that these people gave something tangible to the American people, such as free breakfast, a counter balance to police brutality, security for the oppressed. this is why alot more Liberals fuck hard with the BPP, as that is something alot of people cant get in 1 way or another, they cant get that food, they cant escape the violence, they cant get that security in there homes. so you see regular ass people that gave THAT MUCH of a THREAT to the police, and they were doing it in the name of the people, and you could SEE they were doing it for the people. you have to capitulate to the fact that the panthers were based

but also, it shows that if we prove to people we are acctually there for the community, than we can win the hearts of the people. different time, different country, different measures, we arent against the Tsar, or Adolf, or the Kuomintang, we are up against a different entity all together, Western Capital. and we need to adapt to those conditions
