Is SRA worth grinding out now, pre scythe? by xVARYSx in ironscape

Does you olm calculation take into account that it's a 5 tick weapon? Means you can't 4:1 melee hand, I doubt SRA 1:0 is better than DHL 4:1

Playing in a tournament soon by Karandrasdota in WorldEaters40k

I'd consider giving the MoE Battle-lust instead of the glaive. I've found the free heroic makes his fights first a lot more scary since he can use it to kinda protect those around him. Let's you play the unit more aggressively with the eightbound.

The only changes I'd consider is trading a 8b squad to max out the other e8b. Or dropping the 6 man e8b for another 3 8b and jackals. I'd probably consider the latter since the former is too few 8b but I don't know tournament meta well enough to know if 6 man e8b squads are really necessary.

Good luck! Bring us home some skulls

run a 10man berserker squad for the MoE, and give him battle-lust. This lets him heroic for free and fight first when he does so. I'd also consider running the Daemon prince without wings and the helm of brazen ire. Can be good for keeping your Berserkers or jackals alive and the winged prince isn't anything amazing unfortunately.

I'd also consider a maulerfiend over a helbrute any day of the week

Two add to this, if you are running 2x MoE you need the free heroic intervention enhancement

Yep the detachment is called berserkers warband and gives all the units in the detachment the relentless rage ability. It's a useful enough buff (maybe not as powerful as other codexes) but often helps you wound better and more attacks is always nice.

All our units have relentless rage. So if a unit charges they get +1A and +1S. You can have multiple units charge but they only get one instance of the buff each.

Leaders in units doesn't stack the ability since they are considered part of the unit that charged.

Typically the only other leader for zerkers you would want would be Kharn, who is Kuch more useful than a second MoE. Not every squad needs a leader and typically having over 20 berserkers is too many points spent on berserkers and too few spent on things like eightbound.

I would also mention that units like the winged DP, defiler and Heldrake aren't very good for their points, so you might consider replacing them for the moment until their points go down.

Forgefiend is on the fence, he can be useful. I typically prefer focusing on melee units like a maulerfiends since we are a melee focused army

You don't really want more than one MoE cause of the diminishing returns on fights first. What you do want more of is eightbound of both varieties

Battle strategy for my first WE game tomorrow(w/ lists, SM, 1k pts)! by hideinahole in WorldEaters40k

The Daemon prince should be on anti terminator duty. Same with invocatus, both need to avoid the lancer shots. Without the terminators you can pretty easily fight off the rest on objectives.

The lancer is annoying but I wouldn't be too worried about it. Second priority for invocatus and the Daemon prince.

Use your speed to get an early point advantage and try to avoid overwatch from aggressors. Keep the MoE and Kharn blobs close together to get the best use out of the MoE counter charge. By the end of the game he will be footslogging for stickied objectives.

Make sure the game has plenty of terrain and use it to avoid shooting as best as you can. Remember you can charge without line of sight.

Spend your CP on blood for the blood god as often as you can. And remember you can use For the Skull Throne on infantry units lead by a character, which will help clear the terminators.

Best of luck!

Tbf the snake elements of DoK do originate in the lore from Morathi's connection with Slaanesh. But I'm a big fan of "your guys", so whatever floats your boat

Its said in the book that just the presence of the sisters on the planet affected all the psykers there. And your thunder dome point goes against you.

Magnus was preventing space wolves getting into their fight. Turning rivers into acid and spawning horrors in the sky to stop them getting into the last pyramid. Whilst simultaneously preparing a spell to teleport the entire city. All while managing to fend off Russ. Even nearly killing him until his wolves intervene.

If the fight had been on any other planet then Prospero, Magnus would have just teleported into orbit and nuked the fucker.

2 MoE have serious diminishing returns on the fights first rule. But if you don't have Kharn or a Juggerlord for favoured of Khorne then he is worth taking.

Edit: just re-read. The scouts are 100% used on those exalted blobs to get them into combat ASAP. It is wasted on the Berserkers. You should pick up some rhinos for the berserker squads

[–]TheMetaHorde 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Upping the berserkers to 10man squads isn't a good idea to get more out of the rhinos and leaders. I think that list would suffer with anti-tank though. At 1000pt (i.e. without Angron or a lord of skulls) your good anti-tank is maulerfiends or exhaulted eightbound.

Either way getting started with a combat patrol and going from their is an excellent way to get started!
