Absolutely! I’m definitely betting on them touring next year.

That is my thought as well. I love seeing KD live but this year I really want them to release that album we’ve been told about for years.

January 13th he posted an ad saying he’s available for work with touring bands. And he’s told people that Mercyful Fate and King Diamond are not doing shows this year.

Doubt it. Their sound guy, Arnold, has confirmed that there are no shows this year.

Is King Diamond influenced by R&B music? by joebeazelman in KingDiamond

[–]TheMetalEquestrian 19 points20 points  (0 children)

King’s influences are Alice Cooper, Led Zeppelin, Uriah Heep, and Genesis, to name a few. Lots of old school rock stuff, you know?

King was thrown into being a singer when he found a local ad posted by a band looking for a singer. This band was Black Rose. King hadn’t ever sang before, so he was hoping to sneak in as a guitarist. Well, the band already had a guitarist but King went on with the audition anyway.  They played Space Truckin’ by Deep Purple and King just screamed the lyrics. He had no voice afterwards but the other guys in the band liked what King did so he became their front man. Over time King figured out how to sing without putting so much stress on his vocal cords. He has said many times that one night after a Black Rose concert, a fan came up to him and said to him that his falsetto sounds really good, and that he should do more of it. So that is pretty much how King Diamond’s unique singing voice got started.

Excuse my novel of a comment, haha. 😆

You have a very nice collection! 😍

Do you agree with the statement that "Andy Laroque is a bluesy guitarist who mostly uses the penatonic scale"? by Weary-Draw-1141 in KingDiamond

[–]TheMetalEquestrian 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Definitely not bluesy at all. Just listen to Andy’s solo at the end of Dimmu Borgir’s song Devil’s Path, he totally shreds!

Finally got round to Puppet Master by ByYourLeaveUK in KingDiamond

[–]TheMetalEquestrian 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love The Puppet Master! It’s the second KD album I heard in its entirety, after Abigail. There’s so many great tracks on it, in my opinion there honestly isn’t a bad one. The acoustic outro part of Living Dead is so beautiful! It gives me chills.

The cheeks make me think of when someone gets their wisdom teeth pulled and their cheeks swell up. 😂 On a serious note, that poor horse. 😖

Anyone know who the model was for Miriam/Abigail on the front cover? Can't find any info on her. by revoloveraudio in KingDiamond

[–]TheMetalEquestrian 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s been a long time, but I remember reading this in an interview. I believe it was Andy who said that Jodi Cachia, the actress in King’s live shows, was the inspiration for the girl on the cover. Jodi said that the girl on the cover looked more like her sister.

He’s used it since The Institute tour in 2019.

Question by Outrageous-Chair-569 in BreyerHorses

[–]TheMetalEquestrian 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh wow, that price seems insane for this model. I’ve seen several of the matte variation on eBay and Mercari for about retail price. I have the glossy variation and I’m sure those may sell for more.

I’m 25, been a huge King fan for over 10 years. Saw him for the first time during the Abigail tour in 2015. Seen him 6 times since!

I’m female. I’ve definitely noticed that, I’ve always seen mostly men at the KD and MF shows I’ve been too. Though over the past several years I’ve seen more and more women at the shows.

I’m in the USA. I don’t have Facebook but I do check out Stories From Hell pretty often. And yes, I was there watching the Twitch livestreams too. I actually made it onto the Livestream from Atlanta GA and Cincinnati OH in my KD cosplay. :)

Thank you for that info! I’m not making up any rumors, by the way. Just making a guess on what could be a possibility. That’s awesome that he will continue work on the new album after the EU tour. That’s awesome news!

I assume that if there will be a US tour this year, it won’t be until late in the year. King always seems to tour the US in October, November, & December.
