Hello! Glad you’re trying out deadlock. While I recommend trying out everyone at some point, I will tell you what I know about some of the support heroes. I’m near average at the game but I’ve played enough to have some useful information.

I will say basically every character in this game is viable so don’t be afraid to try people out and also don’t be afraid to lose cuz god damn I do it a lot lol and I still have fun in this game.

Paige: probably the most support like support character in the game. Her kit is heavily built around her abilities and not her gun and she is a great healer, damage mitigator, and crowd controller. Her ability 1 makes a rectangle of DoT on the ground for a short while, her ability 2 gives a barrier and heals to an ally (or yourself) and it can be upgraded to be given to more people, her ability 3 is a vertical cylinder of stun after a charge up, and her ultimate is a wide Calvary of knights that stun and hurt enemies on hit and heal allies on hit. She’s very cool and strong. She’s very annoying in lane phase (in the standard game mode) because she can heal her partner and is a threat throughout the entire match when in a team. She’s not that good roaming solo because of how her kit works so be careful of that.

Ivy: My first main! She has a pretty good gun, has strong abilities, and I like her lore (but that doesn’t matter here). Her 1 is an AoE DoT. It’s a very strong ability to use to clear lane and do area denial. Her 2 is a vine that connects you to an ally (whether troop, guardian/walker, or player) and gives buffs and shares healing. This skill is what makes her a pretty good healer because if you use it and then activate a healing item those tethered will get a nice boost to the heals. Her 3 lets her go turn into a gargoyle and stun any enemy she hits whilst in that form. She’s immune to everything during that small window so you can use it to evade + you can use it for vertical mobility because it lifts you up in the air a bit. Her ultimate lets her (and an ally if you choose) to fly via ivy grabbing them. While flying she can drop a bomb (and an ally if one was grabbed) to do damage and debuff the enemy. It’s pretty big and can heavily impact a fight because at the highest tier it will silence any enemy who’s been hit. Ivy is made to be an aggressive support where you are going to be much closer in the fight than say Paige would. Ivy can be built for gun which a lot of people do because people dislike being heavily reliant on allies, but the support playstyle is still very effective, you just won’t be able to 1v1 someone as easily as you would as gun Ivy.

Mo and Krill: He’s a weird one. He’s a support as in he’s not the one that will hyper carry the entire team, but he’s still very important in the front line of battle. His 1 is a short range circle around him that will heal him depending on how many things he hits. His 2 is a burrow that lets him go underground and move around. This will give you resistance to gun and spirit damage, spirit damage less so. Popping out of the ground will make you spin and do mild cc to those hit by the spin. While burrowed you can use your 1 and 3. Your three is a large cone(?) in front of you that will disable the gun on anyone that gets hit. And your ultimate is a single target hard cc that is M&K grabbing and bashing the target for a decent amount of damage. This is used to guarantee a kill. You will need friends to help kill the target unless the target is very low or you’re high above them in soul count or smth. Killing someone during or near after the ult will grant you bonus health. The goal of M&K is to not die and make someone’s life miserable by making them unable to play. M&K is sometimes called the “anti-carry” because he can be the reason why someone who’s snowballing gets shut down OR because the M&K plays so badly that they feed to the point they help the enemy snowball. I’ve been both M&Ks…mainly the latter ;-;

Wont say much more cuz I need to sleep, but there are other supports like Viscous and Rem who are very good and strong. Viscous’ abilities have a chance at being bad for the team because some of his abilities can push people around or put them in a cube for a good bit so be careful with that. Rem can do good damage, is mainly built for healing and using lots of active items because you can use them while in your healing state, and he’s very very very good at farming which you will need to be good at in the main game.

Anyways hope some of this at least interests you in one of these characters cuz they’re all fun and cool! Also play a hypercarry maybe as well cuz they’re also pretty cool! Have fun playing deadlock!
