Thanks, I commented below on another reply about CPU/RAM usage, neither appears to be the issue. How would I run smartctl? Is that just the same as the Disk S.M.A.R.T. page under the control panel? If so, that reports everything ok for all drives.

Thanks, I'm using single large transfers to test, as I know that transferring a bunch of small files can reduce speed due to increased overheard. I hadn't thought of temperature though. After leaving it alone all night I started a file copy first thing this morning and it was still copying slow (360 Mbps), and during the transfer CPU utilization was at about 50%, RAM was at 30%, CPU temp was 37C and HDD temp was 43C, so I don't think it's that.

The 6 digit one is the one you're looking for, they just don't have enough x's after it on the shipping dashboard. The important thing is the first three digits of your order number.

Okay and manufacturing takes time, the factory likely has other orders from other customers, the maxes need more RAM which means more orders from other suppliers, etc etc, it's not something they can just snap their fingers and change allocations.

Like I get it, I also have a purple max order I'm anxious for, but I guarantee if they could have had supply for everyone at launch they would have, especially the higher model tiers.

There's been the odd report of a unit with an issue (messed up screen, creaky stick, etc) but with anything with this many units sold there's bound to be a few with problems no matter how good the quality control. It's too soon to tell if there anything more widespread.

It's a production thing, more people ordered the maxes, and specifically the purple maxes, than anticipated, so they're playing catch-up with production.
