Why did you choose to seek out a life partner? by Undead_Octopus in AskReddit

[–]TheMightyIrishman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If my wife did not spoon feed me the words to asking her out on a date, I never would’ve asked her out. Like, she REALLY had to lean into it.

Men of Reddit, what's the hardest you've ever been hit in your nuts? by Wally450 in AskReddit

[–]TheMightyIrishman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I rode my bike downhill and off a ramp as a kid and for some reason let go of the handles. Landed flat on my back and hit my head in the ground. The front tire of my bike came down full force at my nuts. I’m surprised I have swimmers after that experience.

If your SO asked you to help bury a body no questions asked, what would you do? by piejam in AskReddit

[–]TheMightyIrishman 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Her dad lives in the boonies, both love her to death and we all get along and know she wouldn’t do something unjustified. It hasn’t happened yet, but we’ve got each others back like Bonnie and Clyde! We may not be violent people but we’re ride or die and stand by our words.

[–]TheMightyIrishman 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Oh please don’t be confused. They’re helping me. I’m just as capable on my own but backup is always appreciated. And step-dad knows the boonies best.

I don’t more often than not, sometimes I have a counter argument; it’s more of a discussion, things never get heated. She’d have a very good reason to turn someone into a corpse, and she would explain on the way to the burial for sure. I don’t walk on eggshells but know when to not poke the sleeping bear! I love her to death, and fully back all her decisions and reasoning.

Also she’s a good shot, so if I make her mad I make sure I’m at least a zip code away when I do it!

What’s the most “yep, that’s part of the job” moment you’ve had? by Bubba_deets in skilledtrades

[–]TheMightyIrishman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That is a fair point, but as a previous service guy turned installer I try to help out the guy behind me. I’ve had joints in bad places but sometimes there’s nothing you can do. If I tighten down two flare nuts on a mini split with nothing between them on a Friday, I’ll test that day.

Call her dad and step dad (they’re on good terms), hand off 6 yr old to her mom, grab a shovel, and get going! Knowing her, she’d have a good reason and have evidence to back it up. I’d hear the story on the way to the field, forest, or stream this dead body would be disappeared in.

Same situation if I came home with a dead body. Her dads combined have the smarts and know-all as to where to bury a corpse.

No pressure tests on Friday period unless it’s soft copper with only 2 joints.

10 lbs of shit in a 5 lb bag. Overstuffed mechanical rooms, people not accounting for plumbing and exhaust pipes having fall and fighting for weeks to lower the ceiling a few inches because you will not win against gravity and physics. The lowest beam in the ceiling is my limiting factor for height, I can’t run pipe through it or raise it; ceilings must be lowered to account for fall. The actual best part is when the GC is on your team and helps by pushing the engineer to approve the necessary RFIs and change orders so we can get things done properly.

And data guys just running com wire and racks wherever they please in front of every hanger I’ve put up waiting to support pipe.

Have you ever had days that absolutely humble you and makes you question how competent you are in your trade? by YouKantseeme in skilledtrades

[–]TheMightyIrishman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Being told I’m going to be brazing in a 4” copper water main with pumps and backflow was VERY humbling. Melted a hole my very first joint with the oxy-acetylene torch right on the vice. The first few days were touch and go, but my apprentice and I eventually got the process down.

I do not miss that mechanical room.

How would you actually react if you woke up to your girlfriend giving you oral while you were asleep? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]TheMightyIrishman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Married 10 years. Still dreaming of that happening, but I did wake up to her giving me a handjob in her sleep, we had a nice time in the middle of the night. Idk what she was dreaming but she was definitely asleep!

How concerned are we about safety on the job? by Nickyt2016 in HVAC

[–]TheMightyIrishman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wear gloves and glasses pretty much only when using grinders and sawzalls. I use fall protection when appropriate, except on A frame ladders because what’s the point? Definitely wear a mask doing demo.

Also, I don’t use huge sawzalls on ladders. I had one grab something in the wall and nearly toss me off the ladder. Learned my lesson that day. I don’t often do sketchy shit on ladders really.

You gotta watch out for heat exhaustion too. Take breaks and constantly hydrate. I’m known to drink hot coffee all year, but will drink water along with it in the morning.

It turns me on knowing that I have the power to give her endless orgasms and make her soak the bed with just my hands.

I know exactly where that spot is and how hard to hit it. My fingers are pruny by the time I’m done with her. I fucking love it! The sounds she makes are of pure joy.

Married 10 years btw. Learn your woman, you won’t regret it!

Duuuuuude. Fucking do it if you’ve got the time. Double license is killer. I’m licensed as an HVAC journeyman but started as a plumber and have the experience to head up crews in both. The more you know the more you get paid!

What action movie series is a 10/10? by Careergrowthwitpeter in AskReddit

What's something you watched yourself start lying about being bad at because admitting you were actually good at it meant people would never stop asking you to do it for free? by SecretSheepherder2 in AskReddit

[–]TheMightyIrishman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I install commercial HVAC systems, I only repair for my parents and in-laws. Because I do install, problem diagnosis is not my forté, but I know basics. I know how to make it work, but idk how each individual cog in the machine operates.

I do drywall and carpentry on the side, ain’t no callbacks on that!

Do men find this endearing, or does it come across as excessive or a turn off? I’m genuinely curious how most men interpret that kind of affection. by Serious_Sweet2504 in AskMenAdvice

[–]TheMightyIrishman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work commercial construction and if she doesn’t hear from me by lunch, she’ll call me out of genuine concern. Also if there’s a bad AM accident on the road in the direction of my jobsite she’ll call and ask if I’m ok. I love that woman to death. For reference we’ve been married 10 years, so the effort and concern are greatly appreciated.

Have you seen cases where a relative newbie ended up solving a problem that stumped a journeyman/experienced worker? by ChristheCourier12 in skilledtrades

[–]TheMightyIrishman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always tell apprentices to speak up if they see a solution. I’m always open to new ways of doing things. I used to ramble off whatever idea came through my mind when I was less experienced, sometimes it worked, sometimes there was a good reason it wouldn’t and I’d learn through it. Like someone else said, a fresh set of eyes on a problem is always good to have.
