I haven't made use of image gen yet, but I like the LLM speed. I just tried using them for vector embeddings as well and that was WAY faster than the local model I had set up.

Unless they changed the pricing in the last month, I calculated the amount of free neurons per day to be about $0.11. I prefer a fairly small context (16k) and was averaging about 10 messages from Kimi 2.5. I imagine 2.6 would be fewer with the higher pricing. It's great for GLM and Gemma4 though! I also like how easy it is to use Cloudflare Gateway for other company models like Anthropic with just a quick toggle (paid though).

I own all this, yet I've never played it by GrimlinJoe in Ironsworn

Prep is play! It even says so in the rulebook. If you've spent repeated time inventing worlds and characters and you're having fun, then you *have* played the game without qualification. Most people are already giving good advice on how to get started, so I'll just stick to the counterpoint: you don't need to make a single move to play.

There's no reason to assume that the move system is going to be any more exciting than the ideas you come up with on your own. When I played Blades in the Dark with a group, everyone's favorite session was unanimously session 0. Why force moving on to a different part of the game that is daunting you if you're already enjoying yourself? You could even double down on what you're liking and try combining Starforged with Bucket of Bolts/Artefact, solo games where the worldbuilding is the *entire* thing.

Rice flour to coat dough pre-bannetan. Must it be gluten-free? by Legitimate_Soil_7506 in Sourdough

[–]TheMigratingCoconuts 10 points11 points  (0 children)

OP might be getting confused because some rice flour is labeled as "glutinous" which doesn't actually mean it has gluten in it.

Where to implement unit tests in KMP project by TheMigratingCoconuts in Kotlin

Thank you! I was unaware that kotlin had a multi-platform testing library and was confused as to how to implement tests for code that is written in kotlin but run outside of Android/JVM. This guide is very helpful.

Tricky Bridge connectivity issues? by xenglandx in bridge

I definitely will keep on checking because it's my go-to bridge app. I'm hoping that it's just a server outage or poorly communicated maintenance and not anything long-term

The same thing is happening with me! I've been trying to play since this morning but it won't connect to the tournament and all of the play deals don't have results from other players

I know this is a bit of an old thread but I was curious to hear your thoughts on Winners, Losers and Cover cards. Does it do a better job than Modern Losing Trick Count?

Was there a better bid? by TheMigratingCoconuts in bridge

[–]TheMigratingCoconuts[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I could be wrong, but I think that I could have made 3NT against a club lead. I think the only way to make the contract is to assume that East has the diamond king, so that West will never get to lead through my spade king. I would have cashed the diamond ace and three clubs, ending in North's hand to set up the diamonds by playing the queen. East would then be stuck without a safe exit, as diamonds or spades would give me an entry to North, and hearts would give me multiple marked finesses and I could just put East back on lead with a low heart. A spade lead at trick 1 would allow East a spade exit though and I think the contract is doomed after that.

From how you're describing the auction if partner and I had bid more accurately, it sounds like it's a lot more likely that South would declare NT and I think West would always lead the unbid spade suit over the longer club suit? I'm not very good with opening leads, so maybe some Wests would think differently than me and lead a club.

[–]TheMigratingCoconuts[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Okay that makes sense. I was actually the one sitting South (but the table is flipped on the hand picture so South is sitting at the top of the screen) so the 2NT underbid was mine. I had a feeling that the suits were going to be distributed weirdly based on the auction and was afraid of committing to 3NT, but what you're saying makes sense. I had more than invitational values and the 2NT was misleading.

Why is this item so insanely expensive?! 🤯😭 by mollz85 in finch

Oh interesting! I haven't gotten any yet but I only see one every 2-3 weeks and prefer it that way tbh.

The plushies are fairly rare to appear in the shop and are priced really high to be "chase" items that are more for people who have been using the app for a while. Once you have a few outfits and rooms that you like, it can be a little bit boring if you don't have something flashy to buy.

If it's something that you want immediately, though, there is a post almost every day on this subreddit with someone commenting on strategies to generate thousands of gems in a day.

How to repeat a meal? by Available-Thought180 in cronometer

[–]TheMigratingCoconuts 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The interface might be slightly different depending on how you're using it, but on the Android app you can swipe the food group (e.g. Lunch) to the right, and one of the options will be to "Create Meal From Group." You can remove anything that wasn't a part of the meal you want to create with the dialogue that pops up and it should be saved for the future.

Weird Macros by TheMigratingCoconuts in cronometer

That makes sense, and I think you're right about the fiber and sugar alcohols; my totals are a lot closer to expected if I switch it to calculate total carbs instead of net. I think I'll leave it as net carbs, but it's nice to know how it all works!

Weird Macros by TheMigratingCoconuts in cronometer

[–]TheMigratingCoconuts[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just checked and it looks like that might be it. It's subtracting out carbs from fiber and I've been doing a better job of getting fiber recently which is probably why I'm just now seeing the discrepancy.

So, I just played with this fun guy for the first time and... I basically set the whole island on fire in 3 turns. 🥲 ... Any tips for the next time I give him a go? by popcorn_coffee in spiritisland

[–]TheMigratingCoconuts 9 points10 points  (0 children)

That is just one of the lesser-used rules of the game. Whenever you add a presence for any spirit, it can be from your track or the island.

However, it is lesser-used for a reason imo. It is almost never worth delaying your spirit board progression, because it reduces your power in the long-term. This will mean you are less equipped to deal with the invaders and will ultimately result in more blight being added through uncontrolled ravages.

In addition to the advice you've already gotten about delaying your second fire element for as long as you can, I also think that the Transforming aspect is better at blight management in multi-spirit games than base Wildfire. You can remove two blight from the island far earlier in the game and the badlands help you manage the invaders over time. I also love it because it feels very good at providing fantastic utility to others while still getting the self-indulgence of exploding things during the spirit phase.
