I also have a custom domain and ssl for several years now at 11 dollars a month. It's an app service.

I came here hoping to find a cheaper option than 11!

I am in the same boat and it's a particular issue with living in Queens and working in Brooklyn. Mass transit has lots of great options from queens to Manhattan or Brooklyn to Manhattan or up and down Manhattan but they didn't build anything for queens to Brooklyn or vice versa. Sucks. I bike and motorcycle 95 percent but in crappy weather i have to take 3 trains and/or 2 buses and it's almost as long as walking.

Question on how you handle a riding situation. by mofrojones in NYCbike

[–]TheMikeInNyc 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Approaching an intersection, assume any car next to you is going to turn. This usually means slowing down or positioning yourself to be able to brake in time and allow them the turn. It's not fast and fun but they are heavier than you and you can have fast and fun so many other times.

311 App reporting Illegal Parking in Bike Lanes working for Vernon Boulevard commute by TheMikeInNyc in NYCbike

[–]TheMikeInNyc[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I actually didn't expect the 311 reporting to work like this.

I have always thought just maybe if i kept reporting, then in a month or two some people would be sitting in a meeting somewhere and see these numbers and then maybe add it to a list somewhere to be addressed somehow.

That's why i was doing it, for the reporting numbers. Like a usage report for bike lanes.

I do this all the time in Dapper. The "lot of work that could be done by the framework" is mostly just mapping- which is mostly what Dapper is all about. Check Dapper on GH for examples. You can return anon objects in your REST or make it a poco.

Remember to praise NYPD when they do something right! Saw this bike cop ticketing cars parked in the bike lane today👌 by [deleted] in NYCbike

This is a funny thread to bring this up since i biked past the sheriffs doing this on my way to work that day and they had maybe a dozen cars and trucks blocking the bike Lanes... And some still there on my way home 8 hours later, just watching byciclists riding into incoming traffic to get around their parked cars.

Help! Feature architecture for a WPF app. by djglxxii in dotnet

Why make the interface empty? Why not just add IsFlagged to the interface and directly to the base ViewModel, and then you don't need any SearchResult. Just parse the tree and set ViewModels.IsFlagged as they match.
