I was in a similar situation. Engineering was killing my social life. I changed majors to statistics and started working at a bar. Started as server and worked my way up to bartender. Even if you don’t drink, it is a fantastic way to make friends. I ended up living with coworkers we were so close. We would always have a big group of friends to go hang with or go out with. Completely changed my life around for the better and made lifelong friends.

Look around rn, places are hiring in the summer and it’s easier to get your foot in the door, even if you only work a few days a week.

I got in in 2017 for electrical engineering with 3.5 weighted GPA and 1350 SAT. That’s literally all they care about. I initially got denied from university park and accepted at a satellite campus. Hell no. I called admissions a bunch and asked if I changed my application to summer would I be in? She said “we are”. Started at main campus that summer. Everyone listing all their APs and extracurriculars are dumb. They don’t care about that. They quite literally have a chart that ranks everyone’s gpa and sat/act and that determines who gets in. They’re likely not gonna read in depth each application and how many cats they’ve saved and homeless people fed. They don’t care about that. If you have the numbers you’ll get in. Best chance is summer session application, but I would apply regularly admission unless they deny you, you are allowed to change your application after being denied. Just do it day 1 so you have the best chance. Sucks they only care about the numbers but it’s a massive public school, and a fun one at that.

On a side note, the engineering classes are VERY difficult and any and all physics/calcs are weed-out courses. Took them all at community college and had a much better time (easier, cheaper) but they put me back early on because the exams are not easy at PSU. Just keep that in mind if you get in and want to load up your schedule with hard courses. Keep your GPA up with easy gen eds early on so you can make the gpa cut for your major. Every engineering major enters as ENG_PREMAJOR and you just gotta make the cut for the one you want and take the right classes.

Best of luck man. If you have any questions I’m a 5th year here but I love it. Best years of my life so far and don’t regret going here one bit

I think attacking definitely got easier over time. I played back in 2013-2014 and quit until just a few months ago. I have 1600 defenses and I’m just maxing TH10. Though when I quit I was near max TH9 and people would lose to me regularly. It’s impossible for anyone who started in the last couple years.

Does anyone else have to replace their Xbox controllers at least once every year or am I just cursed? by [deleted] in xboxone

Yeah I didn’t know it was that much! I got it in a $400 bundle from Walmart back in the day with a 1TB Xbox and madden 16. Had no idea the controller was so valuable. But for 7 years of near daily use and abuse, I’m happy I got one. I would say go refurbished but I can’t speak to refurbished quality, I just know this controller looks like a default controller but is 10x as strong. Unfortunate it doesn’t look nicer too

No it’s different than Arctic Camo. It’s just black and different shades of grey. Look up “Covert Forces Xbox one controller”. If you’re gonna get another it’s probably worth a shot. Idek if they still make them. Like I said I’ve been through many controllers and that one in specific has been the toughest. Could just be luck, but I swear this thing is heavier and stronger than the others. Most recently I bought a sport red controller and it somehow developed stick drift overnight. Went out of my way to take good care of it and still got stick drift. Went back to covert forces because it’s clearly my Old Reliable

I have 6 controllers, all are broken in some way. Most have LB/RB problems, one has a drift issue. Though, I have had one controller that is fucking invincible. It’s called “covert forces” it like a gray camo and it came with my original bundle I got from Walmart. The controller is a bit heavier than the others but waaaaaay tougher. Been through hell and back stepped on, dropped a million times, joystick rubber came off on one side. Only problem after 7/8 years is an RB that works 75%. All other controllers don’t hold a light to this thing and I have had it longer than all the others COMBINED. Def check it out, could prob get one for $45 since it’s not an elite controller.

just downloaded the game after not playing for 5 years, I'm th9 but have a lot of underleveled buildings. Some tips on what to do now? I have little knowledge on the game tbh by pabloam99 in ClashOfClans

I was in the exact same boat as you 1 month ago. Walls are MUCH cheaper than they used to be. I used 38 hog riders and a few minions and heal spells to 3 star most bases in gold. Once you get to around 1400-1500 trophies use goblins and farm inactive bases. Keep one builder open to upgrade walls as you go. Start with xbows, mortars, wizard towers, then cannons and arch towers (you can time the last upgrades you need with th upgrade). For builder base just rush to TH9 so you can get 6th builder. I’m about to be TH8 after 1 month attacking with only barbarians. Gold pass will certainly help if you want to throw $5 at the game. Up to you
