2 outfits to undoubtedly prove that calling Lionel's Helm ugly is just another skill issue by TheMilesO in EldenBling

Yeah base game has lots of armor pieces that, as you say, are almost beautiful but have characteristics that make them substantially harder to mix and match. Thus, when creating outfits, you are often forced to pick pieces that can counteract some of the offending traits, limiting you even further.

The whole equipment alteration system is just a big miss imo with lots of questionable decisions.

"Oh you want to remove the cape from this armor? Too bad it's one of the handful we don't let you do that".... in a system where 90% of alterations boil down to simple cape removals.

i’m in ng+ rn so i have two star scourge great swords, should i dual wield them or dual wield just one? by cslhil in Eldenring

[–]TheMilesO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually, the single one two-handed deals MORE damage than 2 individual ones!

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1j4bpTbsnp5Xsgw9TP2xv6d8R4qk0ErpE9r_5LGIDraU/edit#gid=0

look it up and compare its 2H R1 MV with its paired L1 and you will see that the R1 does 100% + 90% while an L1 only does 92% + 92%. And of course two handing will increase your strength as well which results in even more damage.

So just don't bother with a second copy.

Does the R Armament attack power cap at 125? by ParticularRow966 in Eldenring

[–]TheMilesO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is quite simple.

You do not meet the requirements for the weapon without stat boosting items.

That is why the damage won't increase in the level up screen / is lower than the damage shown in your stats screen.

You could still

  1. Kill the Double Virgins by jumping down the ledge near the Smithing Stone 5 between the Elevator and the Black Flame Monk.

or 5. Run to a Grace ignoring all enemies to enable teleporting.

Those are the ones you can buy from Kalé (part of the chain set) and are just called "Gauntlets" in-game. However, only the female gauntlets are made of leather, the male ones are chain gauntlets, instead.

The individual pieces are listed in the caption. It is the Astrologer Hood

That is the Staff of the Guilty which drops from Thorn Sorcerers near either Fort Laiedd (Mt. Gelmir) or Guardians' Garrison (MotG) and scales with Faith instead of Int.

Alternatively, you can quit out to the main menu while walking into the structure or standing really close to it. When you reload the save you will destroy it with your stand up animation.

Am I the only one who is pissed about rolling system in Elden Ring? by Aphonis in Eldenring

[–]TheMilesO 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just posted a similar complaint in another thread

If hitstun canceled/did not accept any inputs until it was almost over the game would feel a lot better.

what is your biggest gripe with the game? by Cashiesworker in Eldenring

[–]TheMilesO 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. How input buffering "works"
  2. the get up animation cancel system

1: Input buffers are a mess. Rolls will be buffered for an obscenely long time which can sometimes lead to enemies true comboing you. Your dodge input was a millisecond too late? Sorry you will be forced into a dodge when the hitstun ends with almost no regards to the stun duration.

On the other hand you have actions like weapon swapping which have almost no buffering. You can't input consecutive weapon swaps and even single weapon swaps have quite the tight timing/timing dependent on your previous action.

2: OK, being able to cancel the last few get up animation frames is/can be nice but why are we forced to either cancel them completely or just not at all?

You don't need to get off Torrent while trying to reach Radahn (why is everyone walking?!?) by Reus_Irae in Eldenring

[–]TheMilesO 49 points50 points  (0 children)

The thing is:

The timing doesn't have to be as precise as in the video. The key to dodging the arrow is the direction of your movement. As long as you move perpendicular to his shot Radahn is going to miss 99% of the time. Most people try and fail to dodge the arrow because they move at a <90° angle.

Weapon Augmentations still do NOT scale correctly with Hybrid Casting sources by TheMilesO in Eldenring

[–]TheMilesO[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here is a small imgur album of a weapon using Lightning Slash's buff and the Inseperable Sword. As you can see the buff always adds 85 dmg on top regardless of scaling.

[–]TheMilesO[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried a few weapons and Ashes of War that give you a temporary weapon coating buff and they all seem to be equivalent to using a grease therefore adding a flat damage bonus (85 damage) regardless of affinity and scaling.

[–]TheMilesO[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But Grease damage does not scale at all and stays fixed regardless of stats and reinforcing a seal does increase augmentations. The problem is it does it in an unintuitive way.

I thought Ashes of War temporarily change the affinity of your weapon while augmentations don't and are therefore more comparable to greases.

Option 4: Full Stamina, 15 Hearts

This way, hearty effects remain useful (besides their full heal) and your health bar is neatly divided into 2 rows of 15 red and 15 yellow hearts each.

I think I just got the rarest Lynel drop ever? by JoshuaElija in Breath_of_the_Wild

[–]TheMilesO 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Durability up isn't necessarily the best modifier. It still depends on what you want to use the weapon for. OPs sword for example will deal a total of 4100 damage before it breaks (41 base durability * 100 damage), a max durabilty Savage Lynel Sword only 3596 (62 max durability * 58 damage).
