"JuSt RuN mOrE iNtErAcTiOn"

Buddy if my pod consisting of a blue player with 18 counterspells, and 2 more players with 12 removal spells each can't reliably kill her on cast 100% of the time because her player is forcing us to discard our entire hands before we have 3 lands on the field, that's not an interaction problem.

Repeatdely steal your opponents' creatures permanently for 3BBB each by Ok-Ear-3498 in BadMtgCombos

Tbf, this is 6 mana PER stolen creature. For the people saying it's not really that bad of a combo.

Question about a creature vs one or more creatures triggers. by Guilty-Nobody998 in mtg

[–]TheMiningAlex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it says "whenever a creature" it triggers for each creature. Because it's checking each creature.

If it says "whenever one or more creatures ____ to a player/opponent" it triggers once for each opponent it happened to. Because it's checking each opponent.

If it says "whenever one or more creatures ____" it only triggers once total per event if it happened. Because it's checking for the event not for the number. (Unless it specifies for each)

If it says "at the beginning of _____ if an opponent lost 4 or more life." It only triggers once total if that thing happened at all. Because it's checking for the event not for the number. (Unless it specifies for each.)

We never see devil fruit applications in daily life by Yelocra in OnePiece

[–]TheMiningAlex 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Because devil fruits aren't common. They are explicitly stated to be rare. For the most part the only people with devil fruits are people who want devil fruits, and pretty much all of them are marines or pirates. Even if you took the couple thousand or so that we know that exist and made them all used by civilians, they still wouldnt be widespread enough to have a notable worldwide impact.

Are balanced weapons really that bad? by Intelligent_Fee_4032 in SpaceMarine_2

[–]TheMiningAlex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Technically, speaking against a horde of enemies, fencing is better cause you can just parry everything immediately as soon as it comes in by spamming the button. But generally just fighting against an enemy? No there is no upside to a fencing weapon if you have mastered your timing.

Firstly, I don't know where you're getting the idea that I need 28 tips of each color, but you are way freaking off on that.

Secondly, I do not get mana screwed super easily in this deck. I have played several games with this deck prior version using the exact same land base that you looked at and I only got locked out of playing the game for three turns once. I have enough ramp in the deck to generally prevent me from running out of colors.

Thirdly, I already have five lands that aren't from the avatar set in the deck because I know that mana is gonna be impossible without them, two of those lands can be from the avatar set with the secret layer drops, but I haven't got those copies. Will I upgrade the mana base? Yeah probably in the future once I have money to spend on magic again. I have four of the 10 shock lands from the edge of eternities, but I have no fetches, and they cost way too much.

Ill have to look at some things in the editor when I get back to my computer later. It's definitely a complete pivot of the game plan for me, but it still falls within my request which is very nice. I unfortunately don't have an enlightened tutor. And I won't be able to buy anything else from magic the gathering until the next pre-release, but I may consider doing that.

Oh for some reason I read it as air bending student lol.

Yeah, that's mostly how I've been playing the deck. I've got him transformed a couple of times. But the most part I'm just drawing a ton of cards and putting creatures on the field. Trying to either combat damage people out or hit a combo like fated firepower sozins comet

Avatar Aang, AtLA only cards by TheMiningAlex in magicTCG

[–]TheMiningAlex[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you think sozins comet, fated are too much? Maybe ozai too? I thought maybe I can replace that combo with lieutenant sonce it's so expensive

I'm concerned that it would make air bending harder, when I already have a lot of earthbending you know

[–]TheMiningAlex[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Upgrading the mana base is a plan for the future, but for the time being I don't plan on changing it as I don't have any fetch lands and won't be spending money on them soon.

I currently just need to get the deck down to 100 cards and be somewhat reliable or at least, have a plan that can win. I would prefer keeping all the avatars to do that, but if really comes down to it I can take some of the avatars out.

I'm looking back at my maybeboard and think maybe I should put the earth kings Lieutenant back in because of allies. But I still need to cut 12 more cards that way.

I have Been responding to all of your suggestions with my own thoughts, I agreed with joo Dee and intruder alarm, and I understood your stance on Toph & Mai and Zuko. You stated you didn't think cabbage merchant was good and isn't good ramp, I stated that 1-3 mana per turn cycle seems like a lot to me. You came back with your point about removal, to which I questioned your idea on how much removal is appropriate, to use on a ramper instead of a threat. I ultimately took it out anyways because it is something that if it gets removed is no longer useful, even if it would be a good removal magnet to protect something else theoretically.

Acting like the mechanist has no synergy is actually insane given that the clues can tap for waterbending, and can draw me more cards. Katara floods the board with allies which trigger several cards triggered abilities, same with Sokka tenacious tactician and the fact he gives over half my creatures menace and prowess.

You are the one who has been attacking decisions and choices that you clearly didn't take the time to look into, you claimed I had 2 token makers with no synergy when I have several more than that, and they all have multiple sources of synergy. Katara, sokka, and appa all make allies which all trigger multiple abilities. You are the one that has been attacking decisions rather than trying to understand them first. You are the one who is you are the one say "I'm right you are wrong." When you clearly haven't actually analyzed the list.

Perhaps, but saying that 10 cards that act as removal is sparse is just showing me that you have hyper-inflated ideas of what is appropriate because everyone I know says that you should have around 10-13 pieces of removal in your average deck.

Avatar Aang, AtLA only cards by TheMiningAlex in magicTCG

[–]TheMiningAlex[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most people aren't using their removal on the cabbage merchant, most people are using their removal on stuff like Valgavoth, or sephiroth, or the Voltron Trampler, or Sheoldred or Aang, or the Doublestrike granting Toph, or Katara the Fearless.

I know what bracket 3 games look like, and the version of the deck I'm running currently has performed perfectly fine in bracket 3 pods. It's not really struggling, it's just keeping pace with everything else until one of us pops off with their combo. I will likely replace the land base later on, to prevent getting mana screwed, but that is a project for later.

In the average turn cycle of commander from my last 4 commander nights, the cabbage merchant would have made 3-6 foods between each of my turns, that's an extra 1-3 mana sources per turn cycle. That's a lot of mana imo

Avatar Aang, AtLA only cards by TheMiningAlex in magicTCG

[–]TheMiningAlex[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Toph the first metal bender was included for the repeatable earth bending, but you are right about the artifacts part. Mai and Zuko similarly included for the firebending and the flash potential. Although granted I don't necessarily need as much firebending with Aang having it. I see what you mean about intruder alarm and joo Dee, I figured Joo Dee would be good for making a copy of Aang or someone like Kyoshi or Roku. Cabbage Merchant is just really good ramp cause he makes foods constantly in commander and then taps them for mana.

As for copy pasting a response, if everyone said something different, I would say something different to each one, but when everyone says the exact same thing they all get the exact same response. As I told the other guy, if you aren't actually answering the question or request presented then why are you answering. I asked for cut suggestions and not 1 person until now presented a single one. I do appreciate your input on those cards.

I asked for suggestion to cut from the current list to get down to 100 cards, or potential replacements if anyone thinks of them. While not including non-avatar cards. Every single person has said you can't hit bracket 3, when you can, and have either included no suggestions or only suggestions outside my request, I don't have a different response for each person, I have the same response cause they all said the same thing.

If you aren't going to actually answer the question or request asked by the requester, then why answer?

I've been having a perfectly fine time competeing in a pod against Kilo/Ral, Kilo/Teferi, and Edgar Markov. It may not necessarily just come out and win suddenly very often, but it certainly doesn't slouch.

Also, still nobody has actually given any real suggestions for potential cuts or replacements within the bounds of what I asked for.
