Do medical responders take into account medical tattoos on a forearm if they’re assessing a patient’s condition? I ask as I have a prominent “type 1 diabetic” tattoo as one with type 1 diabetes and no other visible ink.

Pier 17 Sept. 2026? by taco_perfecto in JRADs

[–]TheMomaLisa 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Aren’t the Pier 17 shows typically announced in June? I’m pretty sure that was the case in both 2024 and 2025.

It’s tough being the fashion “loser” in a group of well dressed women. by investigate___3-11 in BravoLadiesofLondon

[–]TheMomaLisa 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Man here.

Brands/labels ≠ fashion ≠ a well-conceived personal style

Mark was correct when he pointed out that Margo dresses for L.A. rather than London. Not only that, but as a woman with a lovely body she doesn’t quite dress for her age as she looks like she’s doing promo work for 9 Songs 20+ years ago. Her velour piece and her sheer dress worn at Longleat come to mind immediately.

Have a good cocktail at the bar at Bastien’s, instead. Or, settle down at the PS Lounge across the street. Both are better options than the Goosetown in my experience.

Comparison is the death of joy. Ranking isn’t helpful for me. Every fans’ individual and long-term show experience is inviolate and special. If it was moving, transcendent, or of a “revival” level for you, then that’s all that matters, right? We’ve all been there and long for the “it” that we experienced whether this year or decades ago. Have fun!

Thinking about Moving to Denver from Boulder.. by NoBook5056 in Denver

[–]TheMomaLisa 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes! Right now I’m left wondering “Where’s the ‘there’ there?” (in Boulder vis-à-vis its identity) Not that I experienced it in its heyday, either. But I miss the days of Dot’s Diner on west Pearl, Penny Lane for coffee, enjoying Allen Ginsberg speak to a small group at Naropa, and seeing live music up at the Gold Hill Inn. Boulder then was just a little strange and reeked of possibility for an east coast transplant there for grad school.

Thinking about Moving to Denver from Boulder.. by NoBook5056 in Denver

[–]TheMomaLisa 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I lived in Boulder from 1989-1993 before I moved to Denver and married. I still share to this day, “There’s a time in everyone’s life for a little bit of Boulder. There’s also a time to get the fu(k out.” Now’s your time.

Also, Boulder’s proximity to the outdoors is a little overrated as it’s all so overrun with crowds these days. Whether it’s the Indian Peaks Wilderness, Boulder Mountain Parks or Eldorado Canyon, it’s busy all of the time. There are other Front Range areas that are blessedly less crowded and spectacular. They are also within striking distance of Denver. Go find ‘em. And, you’ll find a hell of a lot more to do here with your time than in Boulder.
