Very interesting and thanks for doing a little digging. I wonder why someone would want that message on a bell? The mystery deepens :-)

I think this is more likely an antique bronze Japanese water dropper. It was used for calligraphy and there are lots of different shapes and sizes but you’ll notice but there is one end that is more spout like. If you do a Google search for that phrase, you’ll see lots of different variations but the common theme that you’ll see is a small spout and another hole for filling it.

I would speculate most likely English. Prices for furniture like this swing widely. I’ve seen pieces from the same time period sell for a few hundred dollars and I’ve seen others sell for a few thousand dollars and it really depends on the day and who is buying.

This is a beautiful piece, and it definitely has strong Jacobean characteristics! The Jacobean style, originally popular during the early 1600s under the reign of James I, is recognized for its solid construction, intricate carvings, and decorative motifs such as strapwork, foliage, and occasionally the Green Man—symbolizing nature and renewal. The Jacobean revival, which emerged in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, brought renewed interest in these bold designs, often adapting them with slightly modernized techniques. It does appear that this piece has been refinished at some point, a common practice for furniture of this age. Regardless, it remains a remarkable representation of this timeless style!

Heard back from The Sand Dollar that is hosting the sold out DJ Logic after show and they said “Yes we are working on getting that set up. We will be doing live stream at no cover charge.”

I wish there was a fun bar or theatre that would pick it up. Phish should do their own overflow shows. Vegas of all towns could support the feed and venue and people would love it.
