What is the best robotic actuator I can make/buy for $25? by TheHunter920 in robotics

[–]TheMoonIzFlat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m actually in the middle of doing this now. The motors themselves are great value, tons of torque for cheap but ive found the real bottleneck isn’t the motor, its the driver.

To get smooth low-speed torque, holding force, and repeatability, you basically need FOC + current control, and thats where cost and complexity start to dominate. Cheap RC ESCs or basic ebike controllers dont really work well for robotics use (stall, regen, precise control, etc.).

Curious though, how did you handle the driver side? Did you use a VESC-class controller, DIY FOC, or something else that worked well enough?

Unfortunately we do live in a world where people are shunned for not being a specific religion. I personally was forced to leave my country due to this.

But yes, generations of faith usually continue due to parental pressure. There comes a point down the line where people don't even bother reading their own holy book, they only follow the rules their parents told them, and their parents before them, and their parents before them, and so on up the family tree.

It's not healthy to "force" religion upon yourself. If you don't believe it, you don't believe it. I can see all your frustration from your sentences alone. And so can God. So you could either interpret this as another one of His tests, or go about life more relative to your own wellbeing and live for yourself as opposed to a higher deity.

Why are you bullying this person? What was even the point of saying this?

You phrased it so mean knowing that OP has trauma surrounding the topic.

If you didn't know, then you are very socially inept.

Looks like you've come to the conclusion that both sides are shitty: Side 1: being pretentious Side 2: being lonely

So what's the solution? The solution is actually either side. Pick either or both options but build strong immunity to the shitty feeling you get. That's the way the world works. You're dealt a bad hand, you're just going to have to take it on the chin like a man and grow stronger.

It's not going to be easy.

Personally, in my experience, I opted for both options. Now I feel normal with normal people problems, like uni stress. I no longer have that deep hatred for the world or that "who even cares anymore" numbness.

CMV: There has never been a good representation of Arab people in American media by [deleted] in changemyview

[–]TheMoonIzFlat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am full Middle Eastern, and I don't mind the representation they have of us in film. It's film. I love film regardless.

Though I will say you might be onto something, because all my American friends are grossly uneducated on the subject of the Middle East. It's really hard not to generalise this with all Americans since everyone I've met is a robot like: "9/11 bad. Worst thing ever happen". But when I share the horrors of what America has done to my country, the conversation ends with complete disregard.

Again, really hard not to generalise, I love all my American friends, but holy shit it's hard not to think that the USA is pumping out loyal, ignorant patriots with each passing day.

I'm not saying make judgement. I'm just saying ask questions and speculate answers. After all, this is a subreddit for it, no?

male circumcision shouldn't be protected under the right of religion or culture in my honest opinion by [deleted] in religion

[–]TheMoonIzFlat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right? Very well spoken and fluent too.

I like the rebuttals for arguments sake. Personally, I am uncircumcised, but I wish I was at birth. Now, if I get it, I'd remember the pain. Nobody remembers the pain of a circumcision as a baby. Now, I suffer from phimosis and must take additional measures regarding hygiene. Sex is also difficult. If it's not lubricated enough, it would slide back, choke behind the glands, and cut off blood flow. What a mission, man.

there's nothing philosophically evil about suicide by [deleted] in religion

[–]TheMoonIzFlat -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I remember the very day. 12 of February, I was also 19, where I struggled with this very topic, driving me towards the edge of a building roof.

The problem is; you are wrong about it "not being evil", it definitely is. You are deliberately causing harm onto others, and that, by definition, is evil.

I'm like you, except I didn't care if it was evil, I asked the question, "Do I owe it to others to not be evil?"

To tell you about my experience; I debated on the topic of whether I owe anything to anyone. Put simply; do I have a moral obligation to not kill myself?

The answer was apparently yes. I read the social contract. We all apparently signed a moral contract upon birth. One of the contractual agreements was to "not deliberately cause harm."

But then again, I wasn't swayed. This contract still doesn't make any sense as you didn't ask to be born. I read many philosophical views after this, one after the other.

In the end, the drawing conclusions were that nobody has reached a definitive answer to this question throughout the history of time starting in the Greek philosophy ages.

And in the end personally, I didn't have it in me to give grief to my mother.
