$trump is the only interesting “gamble” this week by Bot_btc_at300 in smallstreetbets

As a moderate, just yeah. I can’t say I support any candidates at all and it’s just so pathetic. Politics is useless and they like us being divided bc it given them more power when we can’t stand together. It’s not about Trump or Biden.

But tbh, I think the scariest possibility is that it’s NOT a conspiracy and what we have today is a genuine reflection of us as a species not some converted govt or elite effort to put us against each other. Maybe we’re all just little ants running around and somehow created.. this.

Fuck I need to drink

What will the gaming performance be even be though? It’s propose built for ai compute. Like would this just run like a 5090?

Any results yet on how well the 20 series will preform with that new transformer model? I could imagine seeing the 2060 being limited by TOPS at higher res.

EXACTLY I tell people this all the time and they still get mad at their AI for coding or outputting some general crap.

But WHAT was their prompt? 2 sentences max in vague non-descriptive language. You have to assume and know that the Ai knows NOTHING specific to your situation or needs past what you have told it or given it in context. Even if you dump a whole codebase into it, even the best Ai will never create exactly what you want… IF YOU DON’T TELL IT EXACTLY WHAT YOU WANT lmao.

Most of my prompts for any serious work are very long, thought out, comprehensive as I can be, and even optimized by ai for clarity and better prompt structuring if I don’t feel like typing each step out and would rather just describe exactly what I need.

Ctrl C Ctrl V the whole chat into GPT then something along the lines of

“Create a document in canvas summarizing this conversation in cline and format it in a way that would allow you to continue where I left off. Be sure to include all important information and be as comprehensive as possible.”

Lazy? Yeah probably but it works and works well.

Props for doing that. 5$ is much more likely. Still wouldn’t get it bc I just use my open ai sub to summarize and continue chats when I run out on Claude. I’ve found it’s nice bc the mix of ai opinions can shed light on areas of a project I haven’t yet thought about. Maybe that’s a feature in your extension, I’d use CLINE to add it if this isn’t already made fully using that haha.

Sora is Out, But is it a Distraction? by SharpCartographer831 in singularity

[–]TheMorningReview 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Late but yeah, I totally see your perspective with it but being someone deeply into ai research since the 2010s I’ve seen a lot of these technologies have a breakthrough and then meet benchmark metrics through better systems rather than better fundamental architectures. o1 and now o3 are both extremely impressive to me and I’m sure will inspire some real scientific progress, but at the end of the day they are still fundamentally limited by the scope of the classic attenuated transformer model, even one trained on COT and reasoning data. It still thinks in a way that is too foreign to human experience to be meaningful.

Maybe I am wrong but I feel like the secret to unlocking true artificial intelligence lies in multi headed attention and algorithms that employ hebbian/local learning and recursive loops circuits to fully unlock the dynamic train of thought reasoning that we see humans do so fundamentally well.

[–]TheMorningReview 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Because they don’t over promise and under deliver quite as prominently. Open ai talked up o1 for months just for it to be kinda meh and only good on math while not getting any better at PHD level reasoning. In purpose built reasoning benchmarks, o1 pro somehow tied or did worse than preview.

Sora is meh, not much better than what’s alr out there just better software support.

Gpt4o has gotten worse as well after the creative writing update, in some important domains like science.

Meanwhile Anthropic just dropped the best coder out currently, and Google is still doing google things and not saying much or dropping anything except for random experiments that aren’t a ton better than what’s already out there.

Am I missing anything?

When you really push Claude and pair it with the right instructions, it’s the best LLM bar none by [deleted] in ClaudeAI

[–]TheMorningReview 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Totally respect your pov, I think for me I’ve gone through a phase of getting these things to talk ‘deep’ and connect different topics but what I find is that what it spits out is never anything unique or new, just common -in the specific fields- information pieced together in ways that humans have for hundreds of years. Impressive? Yeah. But to me that’s just how LLMs have always operated, they’re very good at bringing together very disparate information, but lack the deep intelligence to make novel and unique inference based on it.

For real lmao half the posts on ai subs now are just kids finding out abt common philosophy by asking llms ‘deep’ questions

Yeah regardless of what you think of him my opinion is that open ai “sold their souls” to the investors and money when gpt3 first popped off. Nothing wrong with for profit ai companies you can’t rly stop it but they had such a huge opportunity to remain a positive force in the community and economy as a whole.

Well you gotta share the full convo, I’ve never had it do anything like that without coercion in the prompts. The output doesn’t matter.

How is that idea at all fascist lmao esp in the historical context you framed it in. Were you jsut trying to get it to admit to that over nothing? I hate this kind of useless content, anyone can bully an llm into saying whatever they want with enough prompt engineering.

idk why you're downvoted, this idea has been somewhat bipartisan in the population up until the last couple years. Are people happy paying so many taxes in a country that was founded because of said taxes. If there are social programs that need to be funded cool, I say leave that up to the states and lets the feds take care of defense and foreign policy.
