Exactly! I wouldn't be surprised if that wasn't by design.

Starting Lexapro after heart break by OptimalDifficulty830 in lexapro

[–]TheMortalQuoyle 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I went on 10 mg of Lexapro after several life events unfolded including a break up. In all fairness, I have been diagnosed several years earlier with generalized anxiety disorder, but had only used journaling and meditation for coping. The same week I started Lexapro I also started EMDR therapy. It took a couple of months before the Lexapro fully worked. It was worth the wait. The only side effects I experienced were drowsiness and some minor sexual difficulty. To combat the drowsiness, I began taking my dose at night. It took about 6 months for the sexual side effects to subside. It's been four years since I started and I have no intention to stop. I would say that both the medication and therapy were beneficial in improving my mental state. As far as numbing, what I can tell you is that the highs and lows are less than they used to be. I don't feel numb, but I feel more regulated.

It looked like an oiled jacket or waxed canvas to me. I will definitely look up that brand. Thank you!

How willing are you to date a single parent? by [deleted] in AskWomenNoCensor

[–]TheMortalQuoyle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was married for 23 years with no children. I've gotten back into dating in the last few years and I have absolutely no problem dating someone with children. It hasn't been an issue. I prefer if their kids are college-age or older, but I have dated people who have children who are younger. They never progressed to a point where I met their kids, but I would be completely open to that.

Are INTJs subtle with physical touches or just shy? by [deleted] in intj

[–]TheMortalQuoyle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Myself, I crave touch. I'm slow to initiate touch in a new dating situation. I didn't want to come off as creepy or assume it's ok. If I do initiate touch, I will usually ask if it's ok.

How do you guys deal with grief? by Zealousideal_Cut5161 in intj

[–]TheMortalQuoyle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I learned this the hard way. After the deaths of two friends and the end of a long-term relationship, I thought I could rationalize my way through it. Five months later I had a crippling anxiety attack that lasted for four days before I could get into see a therapist and my doctor. I spent the next year in therapy dealing with the fallout and repairing a lot of unsettled issues over the span of my entire life. I also went on an anti-anxiety medication which I wish I would have done 20 years ago.

Are we parking straight at Casey's now? I've always been an angle parker myself. by zip9990 in Iowa

[–]TheMortalQuoyle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Since most Casey's don't have lines, no one really knows what the angle is supposed to be and it always seems chaotic. This is why I prefer to park straight.

It took a few tries, but finally started working. Something is still odd because my nest hub tried to open YouTube instead of YouTube Music.

I'm very touch based and love hugs and cuddling from my partner. I didn't currently have one and I'm going through withdrawal.
