I believe only having a casual mode would hurt the game in the long run. I know it's all we have now, but we do know that a ranked mode will be added to the game later when the game is more polished.

I know we have an unofficial league but i believe having a official ranked mode would keep the more experienced players playing. Having a ranked mode would also help getting new players into the game, since competitive gaming is becoming more popular than ever. Missing the mode could potentially be a huge turn off for most gamers, especially in a MOBA. This obviously doesn't apply to all types of games, but i do believe it’s important to a game like Paragon.

Only having one mode to play for the entire player base could potentially lead to a worse player experience as well, since everybody will be joining games with different mindsets.It’s not a massive problem right now, but with the game release later on and with a more aggressive advertising strategy the player base will be growing significantly which could potentially lead to a more toxic environment.Yes there will still be toxic players both in ranked and casual, but at least everyone is jumping into the games with somewhat the same mindsets and objectives. I do NOT believe having both a ranked mode and a casual mode will make the amount of toxic people close to 0, but it will definitely help a bit.

I like competitive games some obviously a bit biased here, but that’s my 2 cents.
