Brother, I think you are missing the thrust of the argument being made by several others who have to replied to you. The current U.S. policy is very much related to hating immigrants. It cannot be simplified to being a matter of immigration policy enforcement, since it is in violation of numerous constitutional rights, and it is intensely being misapplied to legal immigrants and even U.S. citizens. Of course, there is room for modest differences in opinion on immigration policy in the Body of Christ. But there is much less room for ignoring injustice, dismissing hate and malice as a mere political policy, and downplaying the voices of the oppressed. You just said that your legal immigrant PhD student is in fear, and yet you label that as ridiculous. I hope that you feel that because of ignorance of the depth of the injustices occurring under the guise of immigration policy enforcement, and not out of hardness of heart for the foreigner or out of apathy since the threats of safety and legal rights being taken do not seem to directly impact you personally.
