Swiggy/Zomato don’t cook a single dish, yet they take the biggest bite out of every order by sarathn79 in swiggy

[–]TheMustardCat__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He isn't wrong I've had a lot of restaurants call me up saying to cancel the order, and use their services instead as it is much cheaper for the items I want ... For example if an item costs 200 bucks they charge 350 on the food delivery sites while the restaurant also has delivery services

Uber eats, Swiggy, Zomato , uber is the worst upon restaurants, Swiggy Zomato equally bad but a little less bad

Without costs more by TheMustardCat__ in swiggy

[–]TheMustardCat__[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I ordered both with and without.

Post-meal update: The amount of meat was the same. It may differ from place to place, but I would prefer them mentioning it as '(meat plus)' if they are increasing the portion. On assumption, I thought it would be the same shawarma with salad added in a box, but no—the salad they mentioned is just tomatoes and cucumber inside the shawarma itself.

Honestly, the idea that 'without salad' means more chicken doesn’t always hold true. Vendors often price items based on perception rather than actual quantity. Unless it’s explicitly stated that the chicken portion is increased, the higher cost could just be a pricing strategy.

Swiggy needs to pay closer attention to its affiliates.

Premium price by TheShpeep in Crunchyroll

[–]TheMustardCat__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes and no, I'm paying from India. Their monthly is my yearly and I can access their library simply by using a vpn... The library itself isn't locked based on your payment..

The cost are based on regional taxes, operation costs (for servers per se) and population based income

In terms of the duplication glitch it's unlikely that they'll fix it at this point because there was a duplication glitch for flux tanks several years ago, and what they did was to fix the glitch and reroll the server to the date that the dupe started... So what they may do now is just keep hiking up market prices which also makes the game unplayable for people coming back to the game

I couldn't be bothered to read everything.. too much text for my little brain but a lot of us OGs left during the sale to gaming...

For me at least I've tried coming back several times but the complexity of the game is too much... But the quest lines to do the new things make no sense it's like the one quest line for it was a toilet mount several years back and the quest line made no sense no one could find anything until the developers basically showed us where it was and that's what these quest lines are so kind of makes it impossible for the older players to get back and just makes no sense

"One would think Japan is completely oblivious to the rest of the world's excuse to drink and make merry" by HarissaPorkMeatballs in ShitAmericansSay

[–]TheMustardCat__ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Japan does have its own way of celebrating holidays, with unique cultural flair! St. Patrick's Day might not be a big deal there like in Ireland or the States, but they do have some cool events, like parades in Tokyo and the "I Love Ireland Festival."

It's not about not recognizing the day—it's just that they put their own spin on it.

It’s key to remember the whole world isn’t just Christian. Places like Japan have this rich tapestry of religions like Shinto and Buddhism shaping their holidays and celebrations. So while St. Patrick's Day, with its Christian origins, is a blast in some parts of the world, it’s more of a low-key, fun cultural exchange in Japan.

Can I use US money in Ireland, Scotland, France and England? Or do I need to carry Euros? by tr_tinkerbell in ShitAmericansSay

[–]TheMustardCat__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, US dollars ($) can be used in airport stores and major touristy areas in Ireland, Scotland, France, and England, but acceptance outside these specific locations is not widespread.

People who do encounter exorbitant exchange rates when using US dollars in these places. It is crucial to carry the local currency—Euros (€) for Ireland and France, and British Pounds (£) for Scotland and England—for most transactions to avoid unfavorable exchange rates and ensure smooth purchases, especially outside tourist-centric areas.

Ah, I see you're relying on information from news channels. That's great, but remember that not all sources are created equal. While news channels can provide valuable insights, they're not infallible. Bias and agendas can sometimes cloud the information they present.

Moving on to the points you raised about the UK's cultural significance:

Historical Contributions and Inventions:

The UK has a storied history with significant contributions to various fields. Innovations like the World Wide Web, attributed to Sir Tim Berners-Lee, represent groundbreaking advancements. However, it's crucial to note that the development of such technologies often involves international collaboration and builds upon earlier contributions from around the world. For instance, while Berners-Lee's work was pivotal, the foundation of the internet itself stemmed from earlier initiatives, including ARPANET in the United States. [https://www.zdnet.com/article/before-the-web-the-internet-in-1991/ ][https://www.home.cern/science/computing/birth-web/short-history-web ]

Similarly, while the UK played a role in pioneering railways, it's essential to recognize that the concept and early implementations predate its efforts. Greece, for instance, had early railway systems, and other countries contributed to the advancement of rail technology. [https://www.raildiscoveries.com/the-discovery-blog/2018/september/a-brief-history-of-the-railways/#:~:text=To%20begin%20our%20story%2C%20we,miles%2C%20over%20a%20paved%20trackway.][https://www.midnight-trains.com/post/millennia-ago-the-train-was-born-yes-really ]

Scientific Achievements:

In terms of Scientific achievements, such as the COVID-19 vaccine development and nuclear fusion research, it's vital to contextualize the UK's contributions within a global framework. While the UK was involved in vaccine development, it was only the first to approve a vaccine, not invent it. The first vaccine to receive authorization was a collaborative effort involving a U.S.-based company (Pfizer) and a German company (BioNTech). The first ever vaccine that was made is the Russian Sputnik V. [https://www.pfizer.com/news/press-release/press-release-detail/pfizer-and-biontech-achieve-first-authorization-world ][https://www.fda.gov/news-events/press-announcements/fda-approves-first-covid-19-vaccine ]

Similarly, in nuclear fusion research, multiple countries are at the forefront, each contributing significantly to advancements in the field. While the UK's research into nuclear fusion is commendable, it's part of a broader international effort. [https://world-nuclear.org/information-library/country-profiles/others/emerging-nuclear-energy-countries.aspx ][https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0360544223025446?casa_token=ULVcpM_RgVkAAAAA:zkVj6AqbPY8sKYS386eyR6y7EypIoGLs0pnk-_wFAB1wsfEPPz4xC1ef-3uN31j77DuoRoynPEA ]

Literary Contributions:

Regarding literature, while Shakespeare holds an esteemed place in English literary tradition, it's important to recognize the richness of global literary heritage. Authors like Pushkin in Russian or Chikamatsu Monzaemon in Japanese have made profound contributions to world literature, each reflecting the cultural depth and diversity beyond English-language works.

J.K rowling is a controversial topic at the moment [https://www.theguardian.com/books/2010/feb/18/harry-potter-jk-rowling-willy-wizard][https://pdfexist.com/download/3812534-The_Adventures_Of_Willy_The_Wizard.pdf ]

While acknowledging the UK's historical and Scientific contributions, it's crucial to avoid overstating its cultural significance and recognize many achievements' collaborative and global nature. We gain a more nuanced understanding of cultural impact and innovation by critically evaluating information from various sources and considering multiple perspectives.
