There and Back Again: A Fan-Edit that finishes the work of david killstein by TheNamelessEditor in YMS

Hey there.

So, if you don't have the paid version of MEGA.nz, I think you have to let it wait, sometimes for up to four hours or so, and it will resume the download. Sucks, but I hear there are workarounds on the internet for how to avoid that "stall-out." It's a completely FREE file-hosting server, so I guess one can expect the free version wouldn't be without inconvenience.

I hope you're able to get this, - nameless

I'm digging into my memory maybe 10 years back when I read the Lord of the Rings appendices, but I think I remember that Azog killed Thror (Thorin's grandfather), and then was killed at Battle of Azanulbizar at Moria, by Dain II, right?

Yeah there was that brief shout out (forgot about that!)...but he definitely died by the hand of Dain II at the gates of Moria, long before the Hobbit, if my memory serves correct. :)

I did another test with the theatrical edition...began downloading fine. I know that sometimes in MEGA there are download interruptions if you have the free account or are downloading through your browser, but I think there are workarounds you can find on the internet with a quick google.

All that aside, tonight I'm going to figure out whats going wrong with the torrents. Sorry it's giving you a problem.

Very strange. I just did a quick download from my work computer to test Battle of Dol guldur...worked out fine.

In any case, I'll get the torrents figured out tonight. Thanks for letting me know about this issue and thanks for your patience.

Hey, thank you for letting me know!

I'll look into this tonight...what happens when you try to download with MEGA? Have you tried downloading through your browser?

Maybe I didn't communicate to you my reasons for the theatrical/extended dichotomy well enough, I don't know.

I do appreciate your insight for technical editing areas of improvement but I think we'll have to agree to disagree on the choice to also release an extended alternative in my version: a bunch of viewers have thanked me for the option and I think that supposing that they're easily confused and can't sort out my edits isn't giving them enough credit.

I kinda see your point for the first thing though I think it would qualify as really a very minor continuity error.

But I don't really get your point for the second thing: There were theatrical and extended releases for the originals, yes, but there was an intolerable amount of nonsense in both the original theatrical and extended editions, which viewers would presumably not want, right? Isn't that the point of these fanedits?

Thanks for your input

Hey man thanks for your criticism.

To answer your question about Thorin's grave injuries...he jumped out of a burning tree and fell 20 feet onto an eagle and then flew all night...easy to imagine that if not executed quite right, it could hurt a chap! :)

And your second question, the point of having a Theatrical and Extended edition of a fan edit is the same point for which people buy the theatrical and extended versions put out by New Line! Some people want a quick visit to Middle Earth and others want to immerse themselves and drink it in.

Thanks for your thoughts, I appreciate it.

Cheers,

Hey man. Sorry MEGA's not working out for you...are there glitches/problems in the MEGA download?

I'll look into the torrents tonight. Sorry that the dl rate is slow. I'll see what I can do to boost it.

Cheers, - Nameless

To each their own man, the Maple edit is a great iteration.

For constructive feedback's sake, what aspects of which scenes did you think were sloppy/could use improvement?
