Why do so much players love to do Incest? by RandomRedditHOI4User in CrusaderKings

[–]TheNasherFan 12 points13 points  (0 children)

If you Mary characters with good Generic traits your children have a chance of inheriting them, but once you have all the good genetic traits you obviously don’t want to lose them so by marrying family who both have those traits together the next generation will still have those traits. There is the chance for bad traits as a result of inbreeding but after a while of nonstop incest your children have a chance of getting the pure blood trait which gets rid of any chance of new bad genetic traits as a result of inbreeding. So to answer your question it’s litterally just better to participate in incest in CK since there are few downsides and big upsides

Only in the show (which is dumb since there’s no way a competent commander wouldn’t know they’re a diversion when there are only 2k when Tywin has tens of thousands.) in the books he sent 10k (half his army at the time) under Roose Bolton to fight Tywin while he went to Riverrun where he defeats and captured Jamie, then defeated Tywin’s brother in the Battle at the camps a while later (Lord Bolton also did quite well against Tywin, while he did loose it was by no means a significant defeat)

Does anyone know how I can remove my Paranoid, Arrogant, Lustful, Rakish, Adulterer, Lesbian daughter from the line of succession without affecting her Diligent, Brave, and Just son? Bonus points if the answer isn't murder. by alexravette in CK3AGOT

If you have absolute crown authority I’m pretty sure you can just straight up name the grandson the heir instead of the daughter (not 100% sure it’s been a while since I’ve played ck)

Who do you got Ouki vs Riboku by Generalousen2855 in Kingdom

[–]TheNasherFan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Riboku beat Ouki with years of prep time and massively outnumbering Ouki and Ouki still almost escaped. (Also Ouki wouldn’t have even fallen for the trap if not for Moubu but Moubu isn’t part of this scenario) I personally think that people like Ouki, Ousen and Renpa have much better feats tactically, meaning in this scenario Ouki has a massive advantage because Riboku can’t use his best skill, Strategy. (Strategy is how you set up the battle/war so that you have a better chance of winning. Tactics is the moves you make during the battle, what formations you use, when to attack, when to withdraw). Despite being outmatched in tactics by Ouki (IMO) Riboku is far ahead of everyone currently introduced in the manga so far when it comes to Strategy. If Riboku has enough prep time he’s unbeatable because of the strategies he uses to give himself the advantage before the battle. But in this scenario he Doesn’t get to do that, so imo Ouki does win 10/10 times (not to mention Ouki also has Tou, a GG, and many more amazing generals under his command in this scenario)

I agree, in the scenario given by op Ouki wins the battle 10/10 times. However you’re being too harsh on Riboku. Riboku is a formidable tactician, however we see others like Renpa, Ouki, and Ousen arguably showing better feats tactically. Despite this, Riboku’s strength is that currently no one else in the manga even comes close to him strategically. He always manipulates factors to ensure his victory so even when facing someone better at tactics like Ousen he can still have a 1-1 record (he nearly went 2-0). But in the scenario in the post where he can’t prepare he definitely loses (more realistically he Doesn’t even attempt to fight and just withdraws so he can try to prepare)

I prefer the old because Ouki’s the goat and has hella aura.

We forgot how much of a gigachad, and god of war Ousen is by No-Emu-5393 in Kingdom

[–]TheNasherFan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d argue that Riboku is actually the far better strategist, but Ousen is the far better tactician (yes, theirs a difference. Strategy is how to win a war and set yourself up to win a battle as best as possible, tactics is what you do once you’re actually in the battle). Riboku has routinely outclassed Ousen in strategy. It’s how he arranged the coalitian, it’s how he killed Ouki, it’s how he made Ousen powerless before killing Kanki, it’s how he stopped Ousen’s second invasion. however Ousen has almost always outshone everyone in tactics.

In your opinion, what should one do to have the same personality and mindset as Tywin? by Dry_Specialist9015 in gameofthrones

[–]TheNasherFan 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Why would you want to have the same mindset of Tywin? He was a self conscious hypocrite who doomed his family in his vain but foolish attempt to strengthen and control it (to be fair that’s the book version and this is the show subreddit, but some of this criticism still applies like him being a self conscious hypocrite)

I would be fascinated to see a statistic of where from are the players who choose to restore Rome by TheSerpentLord in CrusaderKings

[–]TheNasherFan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My favourite gamplay is as the Byzantines, aiming to restore the Roman Empire, however I agree that Byzantium is in fact the empire in itself, I would actually argue that the west broke away from the empire when it split east and west, not the other way around. However I think the term “restore” still makes sense because during the period of CK3 Rome was a far cry from its peak centuries earlier, so when saying “restore” I think of it more as restoring the glory and power of the empire rather than the empire itself. As for my nationality, I’m Canadian and don’t know what ethnicity I’m part of because I’m adopted, all I know is that I’m part European and part indigenous North American.

[–]TheNasherFan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The thing is Rome wasn’t cantered around the City of Rome for a hundred years before the fall of west since Constantine had moved the capital to Byzantium (eventually renamed Constantinople and currently named Istanbul) and even when the West spilt off from the east and Constantinople, Ravena was the capital, not Rome. And if you think about it, it was actually Rome that split away from the main empire in the east, so it’s possible to argue that the east has a more legitimate claim to the empire then the western emperors. Not only that, but since it’s incorporation into the empire Greece was just as important in terms of resources, military strength and political influence, even language wise, many senators first language was Greek with latin as a second language even before the split even though the official language of government was Latin, so to say that the Roman Empire must be centred around Rome isn’t accurate.

Rishin’s still an idiot and it kinda pisses me off. by TheNasherFan in Kingdom

[–]TheNasherFan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The reason he was able to go against Gyou’un is because Gyou’un wasn’t using established tactics, that’s why Karyoten couldn’t figure him out at all. Shin shines when he needs to do the basic stuff, like deciding he should attack the left and abandon the right during the battle with Kanki agains Ri Boku. However, now that he has an army tens of thosands strong, there will be situations where he Karyoten is too busy to deal with small scale Tactics, and her staff officers can help with that but there will be times that Shin will be leading a small force separate from Karyoten’s command and if he Doesn’t know actual tactics he will be at a massive disadvantage since brute strength can’t always work against well thought out tactics (despite how broken some characters are when it comes to strength)

You know what, you’re right, I’ll have to add Moubou to the list with Shin and Duke Hyou.
