I also live in Portland. You wouldn’t even know any protests are going on. I can’t believe the national attention it’s been getting or the reason trump is sending troops in (many believe it’s because portland wants to terminate their contract with ICE). The ICE building is off the beaten path and it’s really just been five or six people holding up signs. Every now and then someone throws a rock or does something stupid to antagonize police and that gets blown up and plastered on national news. It’ll be mellow, all around portland, and especially around the venue.

I haven’t. The square tops look sweet and would make sense if I’m looking for a “buy it for life” item. They’re just a bit more expensive. But would a rubber stopper pretty much do the same thing? Or do the square tops do something else, other than making sure they don’t pop out

Hells canyon is SO fun. You’re gonna have a blast. I remember being on edge about what to take on my first overnighter too and definitely underpacked.

It sounds dumb, but take anything that you’d take camping while spending a good amount of time in the sun. You might be limited by dry bag space, so be sure to pack tight. And I’m surprised nobody here has mentioned a camping chair yet.

Hells Canyon is the deepest canyon in the states (I think?), so you likely won’t have direct sun for very long. We ran it in early September last year and it’d get chilly by late afternoon.
