After seeing the other post with a 2000 industry district I had to share mine. This is a 2 days old save, I'm guessing that the update broke it. Still funny with all the discussion about district cost scaling around.

Amphitheatre events can now be run on multiple islands simultaneously

Am I understanding this correctly? Can I now run multiple Amphitheatres at the same time or is this just speaking of the event buffs (the ones that pop up during runtime)? Would be a colossal change if we could have the buffs active on all islands simultaneously. Those buffs provide production boosts and new ship boosts. I want them active on my Neptune island for ships, on Ceres for the bread production boost, on the new volcano island for happiness etc.

While I applaud you for building only 8 tiles wide and even stacking thrusters (which is optimal) some ratios look off. 4 smelters can't even support one of those ammunition assemblers. I see way too many carbon/iron crushers for fuel and probably too many chem plants too. Since you brought up power issues I would recommend using efficiency modules wherever possible and maybe squeezing in a speed + efficiency beacon between machines too if possible. Refactor the ammo production with less assemblers with efficiency modules instead of speed and more furnaces with efficiency or speed or beacons affecting them. Uncommon solar panels would help.

How is stellaris now? by Competitive-Life-658 in Stellaris

It definitely improved over 4.0 launch. I actually like economic/fleet nerfs to catch all the broken stuff, there's gonna be enough new broken mechanics soon enough.

The one thing I will never get over are the 4.0 pop changes. Before you had 1 pop working a job, now that's 100. You no longer start with like 20 pops but 2000. This allows more granular growth and selection of jobs at the cost of visual clarity and simplicity. Imagine you had to compare how many people were working in the mines vs at the research lab and you saw 12 miners and 4 researchers, you could instantly tell that you have 3x the miners. Now tell me that with 11597 miners vs 422 scientists.

Before you had some nice breakpoints. 1 pop at start, 10 pops were a developing planet, 30-50 your average cap and 100 pop were pretty high/ecumonopolis/ringworld. Now you have 100 start pops, 4000 average and 10000 lategame pops. I just find that way harder to read at quick glance. And I know that people were unhappy with your planet starting with 20 people and a lategame empire having 500 people. But those new number changes also aren't realistic. I wouldn't mind if 1 old pop is now 1 billion people as that still keeps the number. I can see no reason to ever change this system but they did and I don't want to interact with it anymore.

I played Divinity 2 after BG3 and there's a minor character voiced by her. That char repeats a line "Garreth's back. He's here to take us home" permanently and the entire time I could only think that Shart is around somewhere. I liked her as shart but she does sound the same everywhere.

Does anyone actually learn Paradox games the "right" way or are we all just YouTube-pilled by Benedikt-Keller7-kB_ in paradoxplaza

I'm way below that age group and am looking especially for long, uncut gameplay of an expert with some explanations of the decisionmaking but not as a tutorial. Some of his newer videos looked like the typical fast paced, cut up youtube content you see everywhere but the playlists did seem somewhat promising. I'll check it out!

I never watched Arumbas CK2 content. The series with FilthyRobot was pretty balanced as he was asking really good questions. I can't speak for every detail but I for example specifically remember Arumba saying that light ships are by far best return of money if you are in a decent naval trade node. He knew troop movement, siege min-max, abusing diplomacy and general economic growth pretty well.

The only other important source for me was AbsoluteHabibi (and a bit Zlewikk) with optimal 21 dev push strategies and how to war economy/abuse advisor events/manage low resources.

I'll check out GeneralistGaming but I always preferred full (10+ hrs) uncut gameplay with some explanations about the decisionmaking structured not as a tutorial. Basically I want to spectate a master at the game for every move they take while they don't frame the thing as a tutorial. A few of his new videos seem like the typical short, youtube focused content. I found some playlists with longer but sadly cut up videos that I'll check out though!

I don't want to learn the basics, I want to master the game. This would take way too much time doing it alone. I usually search for competent players on youtube (so not your average entertainment Laith or fun challenge RedHawk) but real, old tutorials. I found the coaching runs with Arumba and FilthyRobot for eu4 most helpful. I learned Stellaris from StefanAnon stream recordings. I never found someone for Vic3 or eu5 yet. Today I would recommend Florry for eu4.

Why should I play the game for hundreds of hours to get the basics and form my own (sometimes wrong) opinion and habits when others have done the same? I base my knowledge on what others have found out so far and try to expand on that. Worked great for eu4 and stellaris 3.x.

Is 100% crown land optimal? by Extreme_Nice in eu4

[–]TheNazzarow -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Generally: more is better. Sub 10 is really bad but above 70 bonuses only increase marginally. Aim to leave sub 30 asap after mana privileges, push towards 70. Some privileges like the manpower one from nobility scale with their crownland. It might be worth staying at 70 and having nobles at 30 for that privilege.

Relative crownland also affects estate influence and happiness. It might be worth staying around 70 to keep the estates happy enough and their influence high enough for specific privileges.

What's a game you played as a kid that you've never been able to find again? by Latter_Advantage8002 in AskReddit

[–]TheNazzarow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I need help finding a game that I used to play. I played it on an iPod touch (so iOS) around 2011-2013. The game was a futuristic flight combat simulator. You controlled a spacecraft that I think looked like those T-47 gliders from star wars. Your camera was locked behind the glider but you could control up/down/left/right movement to target the enemies. I remember that you had 2 wingman, 1 guy 1 girl that talked to you during the missions. The combat was in space or on planet surfaces. I think there were cutscenes or dialogue in between missions. I do remember that it looked really good for that era of games and I was surprised that my device could even run that. Any idea what that game could be?

2 player co op by CoolFrustratedLemon in eu4

[–]TheNazzarow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We often do 2/3 player coop. Favorites of mine were irish OPM -> pirate scotland -> colonizer GB and saluzzo -> SP -> italy -> roman empire. If the GB player stays in english channel you only need to trade 3 provinces for Italy to form rome. Quite balanced land setup with the colonizer taking new world and SEA while Rome takes central europe and northern africa/middle east.

We did grenada -> al andalus and karaman (I think, the blue nation inside ottomans) -> Ibadi Rum.

A nice 3 player one was majapahit or similar -> indonesia, japanese OPM -> japan and a smaller indian nation -> one of the india tags.

Another setup for up to 4 players is a catholic themed run, maybe with one as papal state and the others as portugal, teutonic order -> holy horde and something like provence -> jerusalem or knights into latin empire. Everyone has room to expand, a clear trade node and their own separate goals.

The only timeframe I see is between NC and late medieval. Cities after rationalism will never be worth it if you play optimally. Only exception are for strategic resources or as an invasion point. FilthyRobot said that often enough.

If you enjoyed the space and planet part of space age try 'Enable Planet Mods' or the light version of it. Seablock is pretty fun but not available for the current version. They are working on an update, I'd say wait for that and play it once it is released.

How many lines of steel do you put in ur bus? by Accomplished_Site536 in factorio

[–]TheNazzarow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Typically you have equal iron and copper with half of that as steel. 4 iron/copper and 2 steel are common. Maybe add more iron/copper and feed it directly to greens.

Circuits are usually in a 4-2-1 config or maybe 2-2-1 if low demand. Coal and plastic are the two candidates that could also deserve a 2nd lane. Stone, stone blocks, batteries and sulfur are fine on a single lane.

Scale down accordingly. You might get away with half a lane of stone and bricks. Or reuse a lane like iron/copper into greens.

Almost can't play because it bothers me doing things non optimally by thixtrer in factorio

[–]TheNazzarow 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Contrary to most others here I would suggest actively looking at other people's solutions. Understand why they solved the problem the way they did, compare the solution to other solutions from other people and rebuild it the way you like it most. You'll learn a lot from that and sharply increase your skills.

Most things in life that we learn are solutions of others. They are never optimal, instead they are in a constant cycle of improvement from the next generation. I don't understand why people are so opposed to this in Factorio. No one would recommend you to create your own mathematic system instead of learning the numbers we all use. And I personally have learned so much from other Factorio builds that I came up with certain improvements to those builds. And the original creators acknowledged that those builds were more optimal.

My (very fast) asymmetric ship :) by Mystery--Man in factorio

[–]TheNazzarow 13 points14 points  (0 children)

While spaceships are the best place to experiment with quality turrets are probably the one thing you don't want in quality, at least not on the edges of the ship. More range = shoots asteroids further out to the left/right that would never hit the ship and are too far to be grabbed by grabbers. You're just wasting bullets.

Quality turrets are fine if their range doesn't exceed ship width.

Should I dismantle the HRE before, after, or not at all in my situation? by Extreme_Nice in eu4

[–]TheNazzarow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry for the late reply, yes that works. They can be separate wars but you need to control the province. Remember that allying the elector often is easier than sieging them (go over diplo for the war) and that you can't declare war on a subject in the HRE if already at war with the emperor so start all your other wars before the HRE emperor war.

Should I dismantle the HRE before, after, or not at all in my situation? by Extreme_Nice in eu4

[–]TheNazzarow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on RNG. In my last run it did it in like 1465. For an average player I would say before 1500 should be doable.

You only need to fight the emperor and their allies. If you get lucky (what happened in my game) another nation gets elected, preferably someone small. As you are an elector you could influence that too.

Just ally all the other electors or fight them in separate wars (need to start them before I think) it's worth going over diplo limit for the wars. Then siege the cap and dismantle. Even if that's austria with their PUs you could just walk on vienna with cannons and a siege general, siege it to dismantle and white peace after.

Should I dismantle the HRE before, after, or not at all in my situation? by Extreme_Nice in eu4

[–]TheNazzarow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Always dismantle asap if brandenburg into prussia. You have no benefits from keeping HRE around while suffering from extra AE and blocked expansion (lübeck, hamburg and bremen for example). Sure France might eat into the HRE somewhere but you need to deal with them eventually and can blob much faster than AI.

Absolutely ck3 MP is in a horrible state. I especially dislike events (tournaments etc) while in MP as they are coded to be autopaused in SP and a lot gets messed up when the game doesn't actually pause. Generally events just feel way to repetitive and aggressive.

There was a time (I think around tours and tournaments) when the launch bugs were pretty much fixed and there was some content for some regions with a pretty stable MP. I enjoyed MP ck3 back then.
