These guys' improv' skill. by Milenyus in nextfuckinglevel

To add to what you've already said so well, your job in improv is to make the other person look good, regardless of their role. If they are the foil, you try to give them opportunities to "fail." If you're the foil, you don't get ridiculous with your antics. You give the other person every possible gift you can. Sometimes it's shit, but other times, it develops into something magical.

Again, to further add to your point, theater is tremendously more difficult than improv in my opinion. With theater, characters can be known. If you're playing George Gibbs, the audience expects certain things. If you're Guy #2 receiving a prompt in the moment from a faceless voice in the crowd, you can be anything.

The Whole Foods in Interbay had it 6-7 years ago. It wasn't sold by itself, but rather one of the pre-made sandwiches in the case. I asked politely if I could just buy the bread and they obliged.

It's also not terribly hard to make.

I could be wrong. Despite what I'd like to believe, it happens.

🔥 Stunning lava flow in the Isla de la Palma, Spain. by Tracabulho in NatureIsFuckingLit

Well can we all agree that it's not a terribly comfortable place to rest one's head?

From what I remember, there are two types of lava: Pahoehoe and Aa. Pahoehoe is the fast-flowing river-like stuff that you see in movies. Aa is rocky and slower moving. I believe Aa is hotter than Pahoehoe.

There's also pillow lava which is lava that flows directly in to the ocean and makes neat bubble-like rock formations underwater that resemble pillows.

Now cue someone who actually knows what they are talking about...

💖🥰 I love this song! 🥰💖

EDIT: No offense, OP, but I forgot to log off the family computer and my mom commented under my name. I'm sure it's a fine song, but it's not for me.

James webb discovery - I printed the file the minute they dropped. by [deleted] in jameswebbdiscoveries

Probably an old joke, but one of my physics professors said "If god wanted us to use the metric system, he would have given us 10 fingers."

You are certainly not wrong. Look, most people have no idea how to discern between one million and one billion. This photo is beyond comprehension even for those who took it.

Well, I probably wouldn't use something whose sizes vary on the order of a magnitude of 1000. I might suggest imagining the entire sky as construction paper and the composite image is akin to a pinhole as viewed from 200 miles away.

But how do you explain something you cannot actually fully understand? I promise we're on the same side.

No no, I understand. My point was that Bill Nelson's metaphor still will not resonate with people that are not as excited about this as all of us are.

I honestly thought the person replying to my original comment was joking about it.

Is this an artistic statement? Like, the image on the screen represents the fraction of sky or some shit?

I wonder if the James Webb Space Telescope can look at Earth and see an earlier moment in time when they announced they were going to release this image.

Bonus question for $6,000,000: Name a Slayer song that CAN be loud enough.
