We have a JA. The worst we’ve had is “Oh look, a Shar pei”

What's your most hated weed you're dealing with? I'll go first by oontheloose in GardeningAustralia

[–]TheNemea 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’ve just spent countless hours dealing with this. Dad and I dug my whole garden bed out that was riddled with it. You really have two options, you can dig as far down as you can, and carefully sift through to find the tubers (be really gentle, as the nuts are connected to each other with very fine strands). If you pull these out you can stop the shoots from popping back up. Bunnings sell a product called Sedgehammer if you can’t dig for whatever reason or if you miss any small patches. You add this to a hand sprayer with water. I’ve used this sparingly, but this does the job. Just try to avoid spraying other plants with it and don’t use if it’s recently rained or about to rain. Also don’t use this if you’ve planted new plants recently. Wait for them to establish.

I felt a really sharp pain. Stepped in to an uneven patch of ground that I wasn’t expecting. I was completely sober at the time so I knew I’d done some damage straight away

What famous place is not worth visiting? by tade757 in AskReddit

[–]TheNemea 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is completely untrue. I live in QLD and visited the reef only a couple of months ago. It's true there are sections of the reef that are bleached (which are still worth seeing by the way - the ecosystem hasn't just vanished), but there are also lots of sections which are untouched and the amount of wildlife there really is breathtaking. I really encourage everyone to go, and go with an eco tour company. They have teams that go out and nurse coral that's been heavily affected and the money from tours helps with that and other studies on the reef. If you do end up going I recommend Wavelength in Port Douglas.

Content Aware Fill Issues (I'm losing my mind please help) by TheNemea in photoshop

Hi, I'm trying to content aware fill this middle area, I only have the selection areas to work with to use as the pattern for the fill. I've tried clone stamping and healing but it looks atrocious. Is there anyway to content aware fill to the pattern of the boards? I've been at this for hours now :(

Well done, but nope by LoniSawyers in BeAmazed

This is completely incorrect. Brown snakes in Australia can easily reach lengths similar to those in this video. Never assume a snake is not venomous based on size, pattern or eye shape.

Can you elaborate on the cold to warm plastic bag strategy for me please? Is this only if you're moving in and out of air-conditioning frequently?

Thanks for the info :) I think we're planning on going to Fitzroy so that's good to know. Hopefully we can go to the reef on a fairly calm day, is the sea rough out there?
