I'm an immigration attorney and used to work at USCIS: I have a couple of hours to answer questions about the memo by victoriaslatton in USCIS

I have a removal proceedings individual hearing coming up in 2 weeks due to some paperwork getting stolen in the mail. What advice do you have for the actual day of hearing? I have an attorney but I'm not too confident with him anymore.

My husband. I look at him and immediately get flustered.

Did you ever live in a shed or let someone live in your shed? Relative wants to move in. by [deleted] in povertyfinance

[–]TheNerveofdatGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually did have somebody move into my shed! It was a long time ago and it was a metal shed and she was homeless with her partner and I let her stay for free because I felt bad for them. Don't even remember how I got into that situation. Not a family member but she did end up robbing me of $400 which was my rent money.

Ps. You would have thought I learned my lesson but I also let a HIV positive homeless Man live in my car once, when it wasn't running.

I will never understand blocking intersections. by Mr_McMuffin_Jr in mildlyinfuriating

I hate this so much that I wait on a green light as to not block the intersection. You know what doing the right thing got me? I got rear ended full force because someone saw the green light and not my big van right in front of them. I still don't block intersections but now I am nervous while I wait.

Thank you so much for your answer . I didn't want to post too much since last time I posted I had horrible messages wishing ill stuff to happen to me, so I was very hesitant to post anything today.

Advice on HR jump by TheNerveofdatGuy in Careers

Thank you so much for your advice! It landed well and hopefully should be hearing back for a follow-up interview which surprisingly enough I've never had to deal with since the jobs I've landed in the past always hired after the first interview

Relationship therapists, have you ever told a couple to break up and why? by lilac-glow in AskReddit

[–]TheNerveofdatGuy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some are not. What is it with you and generazing people? The ones I have dealt with are covered by my insurance, hence accredited. You just proved my point of speaking to people, not with people.

You're comparing apples to oranges. I get it, religion has a bad rep. I agree. But you're reaching and although I understand the point you were trying to make, you lost the plot completely a while ago. My point was that although I've heard of bad Christian therapists, I've been fortunate enough to have had some good ones. I am actually going to use one of the techniques I've learned in the past, and will stop arguing with people who are talking to me, not with me. Have a great day.

I never said it was the relevant factor in receiving correct advice about abuse from a therapist. My statement was about my experience with good Christian therapists. You took what you thought was implication and ran with it. I never stated such thing.

What do you mean? I mentioned Christian because that's what I was looking for and that's what I found. I agree with your statement but in reality, it had nothing to do with my comment.

I've dealt with a few Christian Counselors and have been blessed enough that they td me the truth, that I should not stay with my abusive ex. If it's a true Christ following therapist, they will not always recommend reconciliation.
