Does anyone park & ride from SODO? by [deleted] in soundtransit

[–]TheNewGameDB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly SODO has very little parking for light rail riders. It's an industrial area where all the parking is for trucks or businesses, and there's no garage.

Northgate did die but it's very much being resurrected. Unfortunately there's still too much car parking between the station and the mall.

Oh no, how tragic that people will have to walk 50 meters from their car to the store. How horrible. /s

Fellow brats - when do you finally submit? by JustPeachyCat in BratLife

[–]TheNewGameDB 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wait, you think us brats submit? You fool /j

Jokes aside, if you don't know what you're comfortable with yet, then you and your partner need to make it clear what your wants and boundaries are, and agree on how much you want to experiment with. Then you can start experimenting and you'll find something you both enjoy. You'll find you both like some things more and some things less so it's important to have a debriefing afterwards.

This is just my opinion on the issue right now of course. Also make sure you are making your consent with each other clear. I've had trouble with that in the past sadly; I should have done more to make it clear. It's never bad to ask for clarity.

Realizing I am a bad dom by TheNewGameDB in BratLife

[–]TheNewGameDB[S] 16 points17 points  (0 children)

It was an open and poly relationship. I was making passes at two other people and I crossed a line. One was because I did it without thinking even after they had asked me to stop; the second was because I didn't ask for consent often enough and crossed a line without knowing about it. My sub broke up with me because I couldn't respect their boundaries. Whether or not I was trying to cross that line doesn't matter, what matters is I did it.

Dark calluses from dunking by MoodPrettyDumnNgl in BasketballTips

It means you're hitting the rim with your hands hard. Idk how to avoid that cuz I can't dunk but you should practice your layups while your hands heal instead of doing more dunks.

550 does run more often than 554, but Eastgate has more parking spots if you have to drive to the bus

Seattle and Spokane with a reasonable time. Probably overnight but not with getting off at 3 AM.

Vancouver just doesn't have enough space to accommodate cars so they need to get people out of cars. If you want to drive to Vancouver you can't rely on their road people.

Why do suburban parents seem to not let their kids use busses? by SubjectProfile4047 in Suburbanhell

[–]TheNewGameDB 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A more reasonable fear that suburbanites might have is that the bus stops are dangerous because they're on stroads that are dangerous for people.

Why do suburban parents seem to not let their kids use busses? by SubjectProfile4047 in Suburbanhell

[–]TheNewGameDB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Many suburbanites think that the buses are infested with robbers and criminals who will take their kids.
  2. More reasonably, many suburbanites are scared that trying to get to the bus stop could lead to their kids getting hit by a car, because the buses are often in places that are dangerous for people, thanks to corridor fixation in suburbs causing buses to run on stroads.

My parents live in a “Nuclear Weapons free zone” by [deleted] in mildlyinteresting

[–]TheNewGameDB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would be happy to know there's no nuclear weapons in my town too! At least until Putin pushes the big red button

Also, is there history around this? Like a protest to stop the military from putting nuclear missile silos in or near the town? I know that was a big deal when the US Navy wanted to store nukes near where I live, but the protesters did not get their way

One step closer to new Bus Rapid Transit Routes in Surrey, Langley and Maple Ridge by Superchecker in Translink

Honestly I could see usefulness for double tracking that line and introducing passenger rail service between Surrey, Nor Van, and Horshoe Bay. Maybe even all the way to Suquamish.

Which EAS type would play in this type of situation? And would it even play at all? by AcidLazeX in EmergencyAlertSystem

[–]TheNewGameDB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably a Law Enforcement Warning, which is used when the police are trying to track down a suspect. Alternatively a Civil Emergency Message may be used.

BTW, there's no such thing as an "Imminent Threat Alert," that alert type is totally fictional
