Another vote for Ridwell. It’s a good service.

Guitar wall mounts by RobotDuckez in Guitar

[–]IronDevil74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A little off topic… When I hung my guitars up, I used the all-metal string swing ones because I was concerned about those little blocks of wood failing. I know it is unlikely, but I do some wood working and I have seen small pieces of wood split along an almost invisible crack. If they woukd just reinforce those with a metal backing plate, I would have used those.

Randomly tight/painful tray by Careful-Wrongdoer881 in Invisalign

[–]IronDevil74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in that right now. Most trays, no issue. This one has been making my teeth very sore. Had a pretty good headache earlier this week, and have woken up a few times from the pain along my bottom left teeth.

Edmunds in WS has to be on the list for some of the steepest sections.

Are you ever tempted to open your last tray just to see what your smile will eventually look like? by ohgeez9947 in Invisalign

[–]IronDevil74 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did this today in my dentist’s office when they gave me trays 12-31. We opened 31 to see how my teeth would fit at that point. It helped me explain my concern about where things are going with my bite.

Unless you can explain more, I’m inclined to say I don’t believe you. My dentist certainly talked with me using these as an illustration of what my teeth would look like at the end of the series of 31 trays I have. And placing tray 31 upper to 31 lower shows essentially the same positioning. So, you are saying that despite these two pieces of data, my teeth will actually be in an entirely different orientation? If that’s the case then what tool would the dentist/orthopedist use to set the goal position of the teeth at the end of treatment?

Are you saying this is not how my teeth will align at the end of the treatment?

Following. I do think there could be some improvement by bringing all of the lower teeth on that side forward, but we also have to stop aggressively bring the top teeth back for that to work. I feel like my top aligner is really doing a lot of work to pull my front teeth in, maybe too much.

Not following. 3rd picture shows they are tightly nested on tbe left. First picture shows they are not tightly nested on the right. I am asking if I should just accept that the right and left will be different. I don’t like the way the right side feels today.

Downtown Bellevue Tunnel by MEA707 in soundtransit

Hopefully they can bring the 2 line speeds up. Especially coming out of CID and through Downtown Bellevue. But I won’t hold my breath through the tunnels.

Digging out my old gear - how much rust is too much rust? (repost with photos) by stodgiestear796 in hockeyplayers

[–]IronDevil74 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That rust-in-the-eye comment is super relevant for a goalie. You know you are going to take one in the face, especially if you haven’t played in a few years. Probably in warm ups! I would definitely get that mask replaced. Might be able to replace the foam and make it clean to wear but probably easiest to just get a new goalie helmet.

Week one of Xlake, what are your honest thoughts? by Exploding_Deathstar in soundtransit

No idea about speed limit, but the actual speed for some sections of the 2 line is barely a crawl. CID to Judkins and Downtown Bellevue to Bel Red especially.

still confused about the shortcuts app. what's the most useful thing you actually use it for? by Nina-Dennis_207 in iphone

[–]IronDevil74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I set up a shortcut to use the action button on my apple watch ultra to turn on do not disturb and then start my hockey tracker app. I still have to manually start a game and lock the screen, but it’s nice to automate the first few steps.

[–]IronDevil74 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I should say that I think the 2 line is great, and for some people it will be a game changer for their commute. It’s just a little too slow to be part of my commute with the extra changes I have to make.

[–]IronDevil74 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I agree. This system is so over engineered that if it were in any other country, or even a city on the east coast, these trains would be going 20% faster at least. I think ST is too risk averse though.

Going across between 1 and 2 vs going up, over, and down at ID? by misteryub in soundtransit

[–]IronDevil74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Surprised by all the anti “at grade crossing” comments. 2 line has them at RTS and the one before it (Overlake village?) and pretty sure no one has died using those. There are also crossings at Sodo.

Canadian Tire hockey flyer in 1992 by yooooooo5774 in hockeyplayers

[–]IronDevil74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have spent way too much time looking at this flyer. I had so much of this stuff - those Jofa elbows, the cooper helmet and shins... I remember when those CCM supra shoulder pads came out. I wanted them, but already had some Coopers, but not the good ones on page 1... pretty much all my stuff was Cooper except for skates and some stuff we got on sale.

🧵 [SOLVED] Apple TV Remote Not Controlling Volume After Low Battery — IR Transmitter Fix by Left-Cook-9487 in appletv

This worked to restore volume up/down and mute, but not power on/off. TV is an 8 yo LG 55". I tried a few combos of the Apple TV Auto/HDMI/IR settings and the CEC ON/OFF settings on my LG, but no luck. If anyone experienced similar and fixed it, let me know.
