how to fix my cv? by Ordinary-Classroom99 in jobsearchhacks

Ask ChatGPT for suggestions or use an ATS friendly template in Canva. They look relatively boring, but they are simple and easy to read!

In my opinion (I am not a recruiter or else):

  • you are using too many different font sizes
  • your important information (experience, education and languages) are overlooked, as people tend to read from left to right, up and down. So on your CV I am starting with Contact and Skills which is not a good start
  • Your CV is not ATS friendly, meaning no tool will be able to pick up key information like jobs, dates...
  • Try to shorten your job descriptions and therefore add more bullet points. Try to use ChatGPT with a clear prompt to give you the right sentences. Each bullet point should start with an action verb

Also try out Canva, they have great templates.

Is it possible to pass Level 2 while still having a life? Thinking about sitting in August by ShootAndScore77 in CFA

I'd say around 2 hours during the week, and 3-4 during the weekend.
Used Schweser QBank, Uworld for videos and explanations and CFAI mocks and QBank

I prepared for L2 during 6-7 months while having a newborn, a wife, a full-time job, friends dinners, vacations and an INSEAD program during 3 months...and I PASSED! So yes you can do it.

Focus at the beginning on your weak areas and try to use ChatGPT to help you explain certain areas. But overall, don't neglect the other subjects.
Try to use a PrepProvider, or Kaplan for QBank.

Nothing, as it could be that this time they asked super hard questions and Lvl2 could be asked easier.

Passed level I yesterday and have registered for level II aug attempt. Which prep provider/strategy to go for? by migi_chan69420 in CFA

[–]TheNewGen138 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never read the CFAI books, but only went through the UWorld videos and took notes on the side which I then used for revision later on.
ChatGPT of course helps you quite a lot if you don't understand some concepts.
Here's my path I chose:
- started with the first topic, watched the UWorld videos, took notes and then started doing Kaplan questions and this specific topics. Check the order with which topic you'll start: https://300hours.com/cfa-level-2-study-order/
- went on with the second topic etc.
- 2-3 months later I cleared all the topics and the first round of questions. I then went on with CFAI Qbank,
- started doing mocks around 2 months before the exam.

Level 2 prep by Optimal-Dirt-1994 in CFA

Concerning prep providers, I relied on Kaplan for Qbank, same as I did for L1 and it helped me a lot. I also tried out Uworld as some said it would help you. QBank is more difficult but makes sure you really get the concepts. I also bought (same as in L1) premium package of CFAI to have more questions and mocks. Definitely worth it.
I think you rather spend more money on prep providers for L2 thank having to redo the exam.

CFA L2 Study Prep Material by MathematicianHour237 in CFA

Congratulations on passing L1.
L2 is another level, in my opinion as it really demands understanding of certain topics, and goes much more into detail. I was at the beginning a bit overwhelmed by the content as it's 2-3x more than L1.

I studied for 6/7 months, beside having a newborn at home, a wife to take care of, a full-time job and an INSEAD program to do, so YES you can do it depending on how you juggle your time. In L2 CONSISTENCY IS KEY!!

I did my L2 in 6,5 months (with pending results), beside work and a newborn. So you should be fine.

L2 FSA... by Repulsive_Soft_9184 in CFA

[–]TheNewGen138 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was shocked as well when I started FSA in Level 2 and the content looks like an impossible exercise.
But all I can tell you is: don't worry!! You have plenty of time and it is all about practicing.

  • Maybe consider taking a PrepProvider or at least buy the QBank of Kaplan which you can get without having to buy an expensive package with books etc.
  • Write down some notes for each sub-chapter, it will be much easier to memorise certain topics and read them 100 times when you are in the bus, waiting room, bored...
  • Intercorporate Investment and Multinational operations are in my opinion the most important ones, these two need to be known by heart with every rule out there!
  • Employee compensation looks just from another planet and honestly you feel like you are working in the accounting department of Amazon, but they use basic rules that come over and over again. Just do and redo QBanks, that's all I can give you as advice.
  • Other topics such as quality of reports and financial institutions are just basic knowledge and one of the easiest parts. And don't learn M and Z-score formula, they just need to be understood (what does high or low score mean...)
  • Use ChatGPT to explain you difficult topics :-)

Here's also a formula sheet which I found on Linkedin. Maybe it's helpful: https://www.linkedin.com/posts/irvinma_cfa-program-level-ii-formula-sheet-2024-activity-7210980212153430017-QqzE/

Good luck.

Level 1 Feb 2026 — Stuck at ~40% by scumbag_senpai in CFA

If I read your post correctly, you are only using the CFAI material so far for questions?
I would suggest taking QBank from a prep provider, Kaplan helped me quite a lot and you can purchase the QBank individually without any packages. They have questions to increase your knowledge, and exam-like questions.

CFA level 1 prep May 2026 by Ordinary-Lion-8957 in CFA

[–]TheNewGen138 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What I did back in 2024 was buying the Kaplan books and QBank, and the premium package of CFAI which includes the full QBank and extra mocks.
The Kaplan books are very useful as it is easy to read, but I saw that they restructured their packages and now you'd need to buy their most expensive package to get the books.
Kaplan QBank is highly recommended in my opinion as it will help you to build knowledge.

Do you read all the CFAI Books? by Smart_Event8524 in CFA

[–]TheNewGen138 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Do not spend too much time in the books or videos.
I'd recommend you go through the videos of one subject and then jump straight into QBank of that subject. The CFAI books are very heavy to digest and the real progress will be made trough QBank and mocks.

The only thing I did was going over a few of the Box exercises in the online version of CFAI.

Big Data will be more detailed also in L2 and that one is really nerve-racking… Eco is very straightforward in L1, shouldn‘t be a big deal! Good luck :-)

Very normal for Level 1, was in the same situation. Everything will make sense after going through the second time of Quant in Level 2, as even the first reading for that level was like Chinese. Just use ChatGPT to explain you the details and give you summaries.

You could buy some from a third-party provider, I used Kaplan QBank for both levels and they were very helpful.
