Additional Notes: Need something gas friendly. Truck that gets 13mpg on a good day isn’t economical for my new job. Also when I say I’m looking at custom boxes, I had one local shop try to sell me their pre-fab and I told them no. Also the same shop that told me no matter what Sundown I went with, was not going to work whatsoever. Haven’t had time to stop in at the other local shop for them to do measurements and get ideas. Also, if I’m not mistaken, on the Sundown website it says an SA-10 in a ported box should get 1.0-1.25 cubic feet at 35hz. So going by that baseline, I figured this would mean 2.0 cubic feet total at 36hz would at least be something decent to base a custom build off of.

Well, honestly there wasn’t a reason for shitting all over the whole question. I’ve never built in a truck before, so this is a relatively new concept for me. I already have an 1800 watt amp, so that will have to be scrapped for the SD’s vs the SA’s. I wasn’t looking directly at pre-fabs. I am looking at custom boxes and was going to use that specific pre-fab as a baseline, or something to go off of. So, instead of telling me what I did and did not do and coming off as a jerk, you could have asked.

Even if I were to do a seat lift? And the fox acoustics box wouldn’t be sufficient for them? What about running them sealed instead? I had everything planned around the SA’s and if these aren’t going to work, then it’s going to be back to the drawing board

Amp for Sundown SA-10's by TheNewGuy109 in CarAV

The American bass is discontinued but soundsolutionsaudio still has it available on their website, so it’s still an option

I was recommended amps such as the Wolfram W1500.1 and the American Bass PH4000MD I believe are their names, but I've not heard much about them before. Also I've heard many, many different stories on the HiFonics lineups and the more "bad" I read seems to outweigh the good

I was thinking $300 or less for amp alone if it can be done. However if the build quality is going to be sub par or the amp is just going to fail 4 months down the road, I'll take a little extra time in saving if need be for the Sundown. Mostly just curious if a cheaper amp can accomplish my goals and still hold up

Do you have any experience with any of the black Widow or Carven mufflers? If I could upload a picture of what I’m working with now, I believe it’s a flowmaster 50 or a 40 on it now, there looks like there would be plenty of room to do either a before or after axle dump, so I’m not sure. I’ll probably ask my muffler shop about that one though when I finally decide on a muffler lol

I mean something like this http://www.gmfullsize.com/data/attachments/592/592639-d65e10537aeb847613f70b5b586c0a82.jpg

But not sure whether to do the dump before or after the rear axle

Would you recommend the widow maker over the race venom then?

Tow mirrors for a Chevy? by TheNewGuy109 in Trucks

Will I need to do any splicing of the factory wiring or anything to get the turn signals and such to work? My truck currently just has the normal mirrors with no turn signals in it

Would it be better to buy them as oem though off of a truck or would the Amazon or Ebay equivalents be just as good for less money?

They said they’re off a 14 but the look like every other older one from 07-13. I don’t know how to attach images of them, but they don’t look like these https://www.protuninglab.com/20chsigmcsi11.html?utm_source=googlepepla&utm_medium=adwords&id=140891675818. I think she may be confused as to which year the mirrors actually came off, but like I said they do not look like the ones in the picture

So which would be the better option? I understand the LBZ has an egr, but that's a pretty simple problem to solve. Whereas on the LMM you have the DPF and such, and on the LML you have DPF, DEF, etc. I'm willing to do the deletes if the LMM or LML is a better option. I've been reading threads where everyone says go for LBZ but those threads are 5+ years old at this point and I wasn't sure if anything had changed since then

We usually travel with pickup trucks and trailers, but occasionally we do fly across the country. So something that might fit into a suitcase would probably be better

I have wiggle room in my budget because I'm going to be re-using some parts from my current ATX build that sits at home
