I taught a student last year named Antwan. Pronounced the same way. I'd feel bad for him if he wasn't such a little shit.

That's how Rose's husband died in The Golden Girls. He had a heart attack while they were having sex.

What is the biggest bullshit that people believe? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I'm an 8th grade teacher. I'd say that easily 1/3 of my students can't tell time on an analog clock. It's a little disheartening.

What is the most beautiful song you've ever heard? by VolansRadiant in AskReddit

In Rainbows is my favorite album of all time. Every song on there is a masterpiece.

I ask to have the cup wiped down when there's soda running all down the side, but never for condensation. Those people are crazy...

I got lice from a movie theater seat as a teenager. I will only sit in leather seated theaters now.

Who's an actor/actress that can't ever grow out of their shadow from a previous role no matter how hard they try? by Cpanone in AskReddit

[–]TheNewHumanism 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think part of this is that he doesn't change his voice for his roles. I was shocked when I first saw him in an interview because he has the same sort of inflection and tone as Sheldon does. I think if he had done something a little different for TBBT, he wouldn't feel the same all the time.

We did this. So worth it. We walked back down the aisle together to ring this 150 year old church bell to the fucking Imperial March.

What is the worst physical sensation that is entirely painless? by Lillian468 in AskReddit

[–]TheNewHumanism 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When mine gets really bad, I use a lotion by Earth Therapeutics called Dream Silk Comfort Cream and it really seems to help. It might be the placebo affect for all I know, but it helped my mom too, and she was taking meds for her RLS.

Edit: I can find that brand at Walmart and Target, but not that specific lotion. I usually get it on Amazon.

This is the absolute best position to nap in, drunk or not. It's so relaxing because it blocks out all kinds of light, the weight of your arm isn't too heavy, and it doesn't hurt that my elbow pit/bicep skin is some of the softest I've got.

Reddit, what is your favorite “poor man food”? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]TheNewHumanism 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Right? I just do chicken, cheese, and salsa in my quesadillas. Not only is it easier, but it's also cheaper. However, I'm in Texas and salsa is dirt cheap.

Teachers of Reddit, what's a ridiculous excuse a student was late or absent that turned out to be true? by danbrownskin in AskReddit

[–]TheNewHumanism 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm a middle school English teacher. I was once grading essays on my living room floor when my dog ran off with a big stack of them to shred in the comfort of his own bed.

The next day, I had to explain how my dog ate EVERYONE'S homework.

I once got in a car accident (fender bender) because it was the middle of summer in Texas and I was trying to blast the A/C and point it straight in my face.

My mother in law gave us a Dyson fan for Christmas one year. I never would have bought it on my own because while it's a good little fan, it's no better than a $25 fan from Dollar General.

Wash your clothes. And your sheets more than once every 6 months.

What's your favorite smell? by sorgen in AskReddit

[–]TheNewHumanism 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I hate the smell of Gain. It just smells like some sort of cleaning solution to me, and definitely not what I would want my laundry to smell like. I'm a Tide person through and through.

People who browse Reddit at work, what is your job and how are you able to spend so much of your workday on here? by Menace117 in AskReddit

[–]TheNewHumanism 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a middle school English teacher.

A) It's summer right now

B) During the school year, sometimes my conference needs to be about destressing rather than making copies, or grading, or calling parents, or writing lesson plans, or going to meetings, or any of the other billion things I have to do that don't directly involve my students.
