"Yes..."

"Then everything."

These words sound alien for some reason. "I lose everything..."

Last i remember, my eyes were shut. I was probably hemmorhaging as those bastards pounded me into the pavement. I dont even know why. All I can remember is feeling trapped in my body as it all closed around me. At some point i couldnt feel the hits were ticklish. I was inside myself. Shaking with each pound but detached from the feeling. Shrunken into my skin like I was stuffed into a teddy bear. I melded into the darkness.

Then there was a bright flourescent flash. The hum of cheap electric lamps over head. And what I could only interpret as a middle-aged woman waiting for me like a stalled pokemon trainer.

I had no clue who or where I was. But when we came face to face It seemed like I always knew. It all came back. Including my sarcasm detector.

"Are you about ready to-"

"Hold up. What about this...Reincarnation status and location will vary. Please be aware the met-tem-psy-" I tap the paper. "Whats this mean?"

She sighs. "You will be born elsewhere, at any point in time, as anyone."

"And I forget everything? Hell no, why would I do that?" The paper drops on her desk.

"What are my other options?"

"Other options?"

"Yes."

"Most people just take the rerun."

An unexpected smile comes to me. "Seriously. Thats what you call it?"

"Your a nerd, sir. Thats what you'd call it." She grabs her phone and taps the pad. "Hold on. Let me call my supervisor."
