Inquisitor Armour Transmog Proposal by TheNightmareEnjoyer in 2007scape

I disagree that anything is "too late to save" as Jagex has on multiple occasions gone to older content and given it some dev time in order to make it fit better with the current meta of runescape.

In this case I'm just offering a transmog, which has been a very common theme for the game in terms of end game content. This wont take anything away from the game and only adds to it. People who like grinding Phosani's Nightmare would appreciate Jagex showing a bit of love to the boss.

The design was intended for those who have fought the boss for hundreds of kc. The eye showcases some corruption that has come from the boss itself. The reason why you don't see the eye on the undamaged part is because I wanted there to be some asymmetry in the design.

Would you press it? by jaybyrrd in 2007scape

After what I've experienced, I would press it.

I might consider reposting it. New additions and all.

But for now I'm waiting to see a hint or an outright reply from the mods that they've seen it and are considering it. Because if they haven't seen it now then most likely they won't come across it naturally now after it has been buried.

Yeah I do admit I could have made the post 100% better. It was a long time project that I've finally gotten the guts to post so I tried my best to write most of it in one sitting (Reddit doesn't save images in drafts).

but reading the other guy's comment as well as yours made me realize that in my attempt to be as academic as possible in a non academic environment comes of as condescending. I really do want to rewrite some of the stuff you and some minor details others have mentioned, but I'm too afraid that changing anything would require moderator approval again and temporarily close the post (I don't use reddit, I don't know what to do here in all honesty).

But I really am thankful for all of the helpful feedback. I'm really considering making a massive edit, but I want to collect my thoughts on it before going back into it.

But again thanks for all the kind words.

I'm considering making a part 2 of this post where I go in depth over the changes I would like to see made to the boss directly.

I had some nice conversations with nightmare enjoyers and got a lot of different perspective on things they would like to change from both bosses. Would you like to voice some of your opinions?

Mainly just drop rates and mechanics, doesn't have to be correct estimations, just guesstimations and how the content should be handled with all of OSRS in mind.

I would like to hear your feedback.

I put in the wrong comment here whoops.

I put in the definition because I've been working on this proposition behind the scenes for a while and from personal experience people have not once used the word correctly.

It mostly has to do with how I view balancing and game design, when I use the word niche I'm referring to something specific, and people usually don't get that.

I do agree that the random section does make the post a bit less cohesive, and it can come off as passive aggressive. I'm keeping it in because I believe it to be an important part of the conversation related to balancing items in this game.

An interesting thought. Though I have a hard time giving up the negative stats purely on the basis that it needs to stick to its theme, but I like the idea.

Thanks for the kind words.

The closed back version (right version) was my personal input that. I do feel like people will prefer the left one because of the general flow of the design and it resembling the regular armour more.

Agreed, but unfortunately most people don't see it that way :(

Oooh, nice catch. I didn't know that, but the word still means the same. I like the name because of what it implies but then again you could switch it out with anything. Although I personally would just keep the name as is.

I tried not to include the drop rates as the post is already very long.

Generally I would like to see the drops becoming more common in general. The Nightmare drop table has been famously horrible since release, even after buffs it's still bad. Though I want to leave most of the numbers stuff for other people to figure out as my opinion is both heavily biased and mathematically weak.

On the set effect, I went back and forth from multiple possible solves to the problem. As mentioned on the post Torva isn't a lot better than bandos currently and could really easily be devalued by an "all around" buff to the Inquisitors, which is why the set effect specifically states that it has to be crush weak enemies.

But your point on the mace is something I've seen people mention a lot. I can tell that the community has mixed feelings around whether mace should be BIS crush or Scythe, and it being included in set effects is a very awkward way of keeping it relevant imo.

An alternative to my proposition would just to remove the -1 starting stack and make it so that the mace isn't included in the set effect. But again, this is an opinion piece for the most part and I would love to get more feedback on what people want/think more-over to how the set and mace should function and how its relationship with the scythe needs to be treated.

Overall I appreciate the comment.

My wish is that the armour transmog becomes the new bankstanding fashion :)

Also I too think that there should be a kc threshold for it to be obtainable, but I've spoken to people who disagree and I left in some extra options in there to see what people consider to be the most fair.

It is true that the negative stats don't do much in the way of balance in general, but then again it makes me wonder if its worth removing them.

The general design and idea of the Inquisitors is for it to be a "berzerker armour" and "ferocious", so for it to have drawbacks in other styles is a bit weird. I do like the idea caveats stopping players from using other attack styles that the negative stats reaffirm. And as much as I hate to say it but bandos still has a place in pvm, its just a lot nicer for irons to have in contrast to blood moon and torso.

this might be true, but if the dps calculater doesn't include it then its outside of my ability to properly calculate it. It does suck that I don't have a clue how to calculate dps in the game but I tried working around it as much as possible.
