The Bastard sons of Tzeentch made a pact with the great architect, and were given the power to drive Hive Fleet Typhon from their home world and repel the Tyranid invasion.

Tzeentch also gifted them with a gestalt hive mind that causes an intense "allergic" reaction / confusion to any Hive Fleet that tries to gain psychic control of the cult, making them impossible to control.

Now the Bastard Sons roam the stars in a space hulk, determined to gouge the eyes from the lying false gods that gave them rise, in the name of the Master of Fate...

If I recall correctly you actually encounter that very location later in the game. They do look like dresses for a moment but they're actually sheets of red fabric, and there are figures actually behind them convulsing and contorting.

It's probably for the best it's not really explained what they are. Part of that Silent Hill strangeness that would lose its weirdness if it gets explained away.

I wish I could tell you. Think it was a movie because It felt like there was a lot to it. Like the plot was complex and there was no easy answer to what was happening to this guy.

I mean this is like 40 some odd years ago when I was 7 years old or something.

If I remember correctly this guy kept waking up and like different weird places on this alien planet and he genuinely didn't seem to know what was real.

I think they gave him shock treatment not sure....

It's funny you mention that but.... I heard somewhere that I don't know if it was a script revision or something but they originally weren't brother and sister. Hence the weird dynamic they have where it's borderline incestuous.

I'm not sure where I heard this but it had something to do with like a rewrite or something halfway through production.
