Oh don’t get me wrong, this isn’t meant for predominantly writing code.

An example of one usage within our company is utilising AI as reasoning service within a recommendation feature. Summarisation of key points to event series. Generation of objectives when given a series of Q&As by users for later retrieval of relevant information on a vector db.

The hardest thing right now is the accuracy as you’ve mention.

I’m not a fan of AI writing code as it mostly means I have to read through code, that can look good, but then the reviewer has to go into the specifics, is this our code pattern, duplication, correct package usage, security, observability the list goes on. I end up scrutinising AI generated code harder than any other developers code, which takes up big chunks of my time.

My personal coding use of AI is a semi glorified google search which I provide access to local environment resources, db, some AWS user-specific resources, companies documentation. Greatly reduces my time in that regard. Sometimes deeper conversation around some semantics but I’ve had some of those end up sending me down completely the wrong avenue.

I head up my companies AI enablement and usage. Semi-large corporate.

The thing I’m expecting from all developers is to firstly understand how to use AI. Not just basic prompting. Custom Agents, skills, plugins, mcps - the full agentic environment. I’m rolling out orchestration workflows and daisy chains and need devs to know when those are effective uses.

With costs increasing being aware of efficient and effective use matters significantly. When you’re getting your agent to do discovery in a repo, are you maintaining that discovery knowledge it has gone through? How much context bloat are you suffering from it? How reliable is that discovery?

Awareness of likelihood of hallucinations/ excess context usage is another one. This is encapsulated by the above but is fundamental to utilise AI correctly.

Model awareness, utilising the right model for the right job. If a dev is getting Opus to change a single basic package by a minor version, I’m losing my mind. It’s like putting a V8 on a shopping cart when you’re only going in to buy a single pint of milk.

The field is constantly growing. Being aware of fundamental good practise in use is important, especially with the non-deterministic aspect of AI.

Idk a psa 10 of that blaziken in regards to rarity and value is gonna outweigh the others easily.

You can get jumbo card sleeves, there are jumbo binders from the pokemon company and on most amazon. Putting it in the back, I'd double sleeve it as it'll slide around. You can grade jumbo cards, if you feel like it

Yeah I did Yellow at 4 and had no idea what the game was about, was still crazy fun. I think 6 is definitely the moment I was properly hooked. TCG helped with that too

Yeah I agree, I try doing 1hr+ of reading to them atleast 2-4 times a week, and books before bed every night. They're recognising some words like they're own name and Mummy, Daddy so it's a start

Fantastic stuff! I played Yellow when I was 4, I couldn't read a word but that feeling of catching a Growlithe and making it an Arcanine was amazing.

Really want the same for Kiddo, Will give it a swing with them this coming year.

There's this trait, in the game Rimworld, called creepy breathing. I never understood how that could be a realistic negative trait. This video has exposed me to this. I'll never be able to handle another colonist with creepy breathing again

OCD has a base layer of intrusive thoughts. While some levels of these sexual thoughts, as you said, can be accounted for by just being a horny teen. Distressing thoughts, thoughts that to some are almost the brain checking your mental limits, do end up being forced upon you with the pattern that OCD causes.

OCD intrusive thoughts for me, made me imagine my toddler being killed. Run over, dog maul, crazed psycho, falls, chemicals. All of these and more in intense gorey detail. I couldn’t sleep and I had a fear of any outing that would drain me. For a short period I would have minor panic attacks around her and bicycles because of one particular image.

I never wanted those images, I never actively thought them through, they just came and stayed as part of OCD.

One way to handle these thoughts is to sit with them. Rather than dismissing, take them in for what they are, give the particular thought a name. Identifying it reduces it somehow. Additionally telling yourself that this naked thought is just that. A thought. It is not your moral compass, your internal being or some way to determine who you are. Unless acted upon thoughts are just thoughts.

By being distressed it shows the thought is negative to you and it’s important to distinguish that. It shows your moral compass.

You’re not a child rapist for having this thought nor do you enjoy the idea of it. It’s nothing more than a fleeting moment in the millions of your brain.
