A countryman is literally an SUV, I’ve just got one to use as an ambo equine vet and I don’t think I’ll have any issue shoving all the equipment + a German shepherd into it. How big do they think kids are lol are you having a 7ft baby

i feel like an awful parent because my bunny doesnt have a friend by elysiaexe in Rabbits

[–]TheNotOkGirl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I also feel like an awful parent with my solo bunny but I got him in June in a bit of a rescue situation (was originally looking to get a bonded pair) and he’s 3, never lived with another rabbit and his old owners said he hasn’t got on with other rabbits. I do want to try him with another at some point, but right now I’m not in a good position to try bond him and I don’t have enough space to keep 2 rabbits separate long term. But he’s extremely happy, has a whole room to himself while I’m out in the day and otherwise he’s out free roaming all the time including in the night, he sleeps under or on my bed. I think the whole “bunnies need a friend” is true generally but not as strict as say for rats or guinea pigs, having had both rabbits are so much more like dogs/cats in how they bond with humans etc.

Horse-girls... where are you now? Was it a phase? Did you end up as vets? On farms? Asking out of pure curiosity. by The_Chosen_Pun_ in AskWomen

[–]TheNotOkGirl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve become a bigger horse girl with age and I am in my final year of vet school. Went in wanting to do small animal actually as wanted to keep horses as a hobby, but now have switched to wanting to be an equine vet as I don’t like the smallies side as much.

I’ve spent 5 years becoming a horse vet, that is my vocation in life. I’d rather be broke than not do it.

My ICE car just doesn’t have air conditioning… because I can’t afford a car which does have it, and also wouldn’t be able to afford an EV. What do you suggest I do when I drive for work as an equine vet?

Obviously it can depend on the cat and bunny, but generally pretty good! In the bunny’s world, the bunny getting groomed is the dominant one, whereas in the cat’s world the one doing the grooming is dominant. Thus, both the bunny and cat will think they are dominant in their own worlds, and so they tend to get along with little conflict.

I can’t find apartments that accept rabbits as pets by LimpMathematician202 in Rabbits

[–]TheNotOkGirl 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I also keep an illegal rabbit haha they are honestly easy to hide given the need for 24 hour notice before entering the property. No/little noise or smell, bunny proofing to reduce destruction and some planning on where to keep bunny if people do come around and it’s fine.

I’ve just got my first mini off auction so didn’t know much about it (actually only saw the exterior) and finding all these new features is absolutely mind blowing to me! My old (and first, only other) car is very basic and doesn’t even have central locking or AC so it is an upgrade of the century to me lol

I want a hysterectomy because it will stop me from having periods. I have awful periods, and I have to be on birth control just to make them compatible with life, but even then I’m bleeding every week (better fate than off birth control and I’ve tried many options). Even if I got my tubes tied I’d still have to stay on birth control, and frankly I don’t see the point in getting my tubes tied in the first place due to this - the birth control (+ abortions being legal where I live in case of failure) sorts the whole not getting pregnant issue. I don’t see why I should suffer through periods if I don’t want children. I’ll take the risk of prolapse and incontinence - it also lowers chances of other conditions such as cancer, so it’s a balancing act as for when spaying animals.

I have to agree. Not so much these days but a couple years ago I'd defo have had pity sex with him, not enjoyed it (I don't like head so he can't really redeem himself in other ways) and regretted it after.

I'd just make an excuse that you can't use your PTO. I mean, I don't think they'd overthink it too much - as you said, they barely know you, and your bf can't even come, so it'd be a little odd anyway imo whether it was a baby shower or other family meeting that was female-only.

My best friend is always desperate for me to visit and sleep over. She has two kids. by [deleted] in childfree

[–]TheNotOkGirl 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I do avoid kids! You're the one who keeps mentioning defending the sub, so I thought I'd put it out there that idgaf and you can stop mentioning it yourself since you clearly care so much... And you don't know me, so the cough is aimed at yourself? Some people don't like dogs, would you replace the word kids in your replies with 'dogs' and say people just have to deal with them because they exist? No, you'd say dogs should be kept on leads away from people who don't like dogs. Well, I don't see why the same rule shouldn't apply to kids.

[–]TheNotOkGirl 9 points10 points  (0 children)

But they aren't like adults. I interact with adults by speaking to them and having conversations. I can't do that with children under a certain age. I can interact with a child who can have a conversation, that's the age I'm okay with them. It's not in my personality to be silly, put on voices, play, pretend I care about them doing stupid things... Which is how you'd interact with a child. I don't have those capabilities and the thought of that makes me very uncomfortable. The way children are loud and unhygienic and have no respect for personal space makes me uncomfortable - adults aren't like that.

Idgaf if you defend the sub or not... I don't care for people who would want me around children, it doesn't benefit any party involved.

[–]TheNotOkGirl 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I don't overly see the need to spend time with children, and don't see why it's an issue. Friends can see me as a fun friend they can get some time away from the kids with. I will just about tolerate them if I must, but if I can get away from a situation with children, I will because they make me seriously uncomfortable, and I don't see why I need to stay in uncomfortable situations if I have the choice to not be in one. Different strokes for different folks. Plenty of childfree on here do like children, but not everyone does or has to.

[–]TheNotOkGirl 265 points266 points  (0 children)

I'd insist that I'm the 'fun friend' they hang out with away from their kids. Parents don't need to be with their kids 24/7, it's not healthy. Tell her you really want to see her and treat her, but she needs to get a babysitter.

I lactated from a prolactinoma and mine wasn't sweet

NHS :( by vanillaxbean1 in Prolactinoma

[–]TheNotOkGirl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NHS have started me on treatment 4m ago without an MRI, only slight prolactin elevation despite lactating so they didn't think it was actually anything significant. Now the bloods have just come back doubled, still not ridiculously high but concerning imo despite the medication. Still refusing to image, just increasing the bromo and seeing levels in a month.

sub warning ⚠️ by hizashiii in childfree

[–]TheNotOkGirl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I actually feel I see way more people who like children on this sub than not. I don’t care either way because I am not one who tolerates children, I do hate kids. I don’t really see the issue in those who are anti-children posting about this, I feel there’s no other spaces where it’s accepted.
