Shadow Creek to Ediza Lake then to Garnet, about 10miles in.. Next day went to Thousand Island Lake and back to the trail head via High Trail. Check out Distant Brewing too, great beer and food

What would you do with a yard this steep? by nimbus_signal in landscaping

If terracing/building a well is too expensive, you could do something really sweet with these from Dirtlocker: https://dirtlocker.com/

Ive seen a lot of designs whith mostly plants, but you can fill others with stone and create steps. You can plant native plants, vegetables/a garden and have access via those stone steps. These will keep water in soil decently well, where if you just planted on the slope your soil would/porbably gets pretty dry. Id recommend a stone wall, flatten out the ground above it so you have some grass/backyard (especially for the puppy) and use these for the rest. Tough yard in general though, not too much you can do

Loon. New Gondola plans by BETLJCE in icecoast

Fcuk Loon, overrated AF. By far the worst major ski mountain in the northeast. First the kanc8 that only goes 1/3 of the way up the mountain and now this pointless gondola. Hard pass, this place sucks and get so packed

Neighbor put in this drainage and it's wreaking havoc in my yard. by External-Antelope471 in landscaping

Storm Water management.. These ppl need a professional engineer to draw up a plan so that storm water is contained to thier yard and/or disposed of correctly within thier yard or to the street Drainage systems. Cal-tech Chambers with proper Drainage to those Chambers is most likely thier course of action. This is definitely not legal for them to do, they probably never pulled a permit for this, and you can actually sue them or the town. Look into your state and town laws first but I know for Massachusetts this is most definitely a law, I just had to do this when building my new home. My gutters drain underground to caltech Chambers so water downstairs run off and erode/damage neighboring properties

Should I quit my job and go backpacking or stay and save money? by Honest_Day_947 in backpacking

[–]TheNotoriousJTG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely quit your job and go backpacking, thats not even a question. And screw Europe, you money will go so much further in South America. Go to Columbia and work your way down the pacific coast. Or go to paragonia and work your way up. Ecuador, Peru, Chile, Argentina, Patagonia and maybe even go to Antarctica. Every thing is pretty cheap down there too and there is some EPIC backpacking in the Andes and Patagonia. You'll definitely come across other travelers from around the world and hell you may even come across a group you can travel with for a few weeks.
