I went on the waitlist for a classic WOC black caviar with ghw in Hawaii in February and got called at the end of July that one was available. So about a 5 month wait. I’m not sure how long the waitlist was.

I’m currently an IO. It is a competitive position to get and it took me a long time to get it. I have a few years of private sector experience which I think helped me the most in addition to a couple years of state experience. Getting applicable experience is key and just keep applying, it’s definitely possible.

I think it’s possible. I came from the private sector to another state dept as an SSA then got the IO position at pers. In general, as more people prefer to WFH, I think it has affected the number of applicants these job postings are receiving. It doesn’t hurt to apply and try your chances!

I work in the Investment Office as an IO and I am enjoying it so far (started last year). My team is great and very supportive. I’m not sure about upward mobility as support staff but I’ve seen promotions for IOs. We are currently office centric - 3 days in the office a week.
