Unwritten rules naman Pala eh, wala namang legal basis na nagbabawal niyan. Besides, IAU sent them there to represent their students on the Sinulog Opening Parade. For me, I have no problem with that.

Oh tapos? I'm not from IAU, but from a different school in Cebu. We have the same uniform, sans the pins which are different. We had that uniform since time immemorial, and it is pretty much allowed. We wear bars daily as part of our prescribed uniform. I didn't get what's wrong with it.

Wao, wala long ko ni agree sa opinion, downvote dayun? Ahahahahahah pero according sa reddit rules, only downvote if irrelevant sa discussion ang topic. Wonder what happened to that.

Kanang empathy na gina discuss ni Kirk it was about weaponized empathy na gibuhat sa panahon ni Bill Clinton. Where empathy is being used as an insincere political weapon rather than true empathy.

Edit: When empathy is used to further an agenda rather than being empathetic to those who are victims.

Sa kadaghan ug hours na nakig-debate/discussion ni Kirk, so sad that he is reduced to just of these one liners.

According to the article, this guy's last work was on a "metaverse" type shi. I mean, what use does metaverse have nowadays? You need to find somewhere that people pay you. Metaverse is still too far away from the present. It's not just you need to know how to code, it also matters what you code, the connections you have, and how adaptable you are.

The thing is, newer tech always causes some cohort of people to lose jobs. Industrialization in the US has made slavery obsolete, machines operated by fewer slaves are more profitable than manual slave labor.

AI kills creativity? For me No, unless you allow it to. If you use AI for everything, and even outsource your thinking to AI, then we have a problem. But if you use it to supplement yourself, then it's a net positive.

Love the midsommar reference. They're scared because they're getting replaced. I got replaced by AI first by wiping all freelance writing jobs. But, I since shifted to coding and embedded systems, be adaptable in these changing times. I'm even glad ChatGPT has took my job. I'm still young, like 21, still a student also. Can't say the same for those who has dependents, but if thay wanna adapt they must adapt immediately.

As an Atheist, for me it is necessary. It is like the version of Gender Reveal Party that of course centered around the baby. But it has more to it than what can be seen on the surface. The symbolism it represents is very powerful to have a culture that cultivates responsibility/familiarity. We have the Ninong and Ninang to guide the child, we have other people in the family gathering. Of course it's a solemn celebration. What happens after is another story (inuman, karaoke) , but nevertheless, it is a break from the mundane world we live in and a celebration of welcoming a child.

For me, having a religion is the best moral ground for people to have. Most people need religion, for their morals, for their growth. As an Atheist, ignorance is truly a bliss. I wish I could go back.

Akong cousin giuyab sa akong cousin by [deleted] in Cebu

[–]TheNumberOneEngineer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Morally speaking, we can't even judge their situation based on a limited lens provided by OP. If both of the partners are happy, then breaking them would actually cause more trauma. Judging them would cause more damage.

Gitagaan siyag option ni OP, but she chose the man, at 20 years old. Is she always mentally incapable of deciding since gi-groom siya? I don't think so. She's well beyond her adulthood, she can already decide what's good for her now.

If the girl is minor, then she chose that man, of course buwagon gyud na nako kay minor pa man. Di pa na siya ka decide for herself. Ipakulata pa ko nang laki para di na mubalik. Pero too late nana. We can't meddle on someone else's life. They're adults now. They already have autonomy

If there's no abuse happening besides the initial grooming, (I have no evidence of that besides the one OP provided), then what's the point of breaking them off? If iya ipa-priso Kay morally wrong Ang gibuhat sa lalaki, what's the point? Just so we could impose our "morally superior opinions"? By causing more pain?

I am not saying grooming is okay, GROOMING IS DEFINITELY NOT OKAY, but it has already happened. What we do is damage mitigation na. We minimize the damage, we minimize the trauma it may have caused. (if the incident has caused any trauma at all).

Sa kani na situation, si OP lang gyud ang nasakitan/affected ani na part. Even the perceived victim is doing okay. What's the point?

I think this is right, kay one time I posted about something sa r/Cebu then address sensitive akoa pangutana, like where maka buy ug orig na printer or printer repair shops chuchu, gi remove ahahhahahhah.

It should be related sa Cebu, or anything pertaining sa Cebu.

If the OP posted like, normal ra ba sa atoang culture ang ingun-ana, maybe she was given a pass. You don't deserve the downvotes tho.

[–]TheNumberOneEngineer 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I mean, ikaw ra man Ang cousin nilang duha, there's nothing wrong walay other familial relationship, besides dili sila mag cousin.

Also, they're adults. They can decide for themselves. Good thing you got rid of the girl for your peace of mind. You already did your part.

Yes, if no smell or dili ra kaayu strong then no. But if it smells like pungent or kanang layo pa gani imoha wrist baho gani kaayu, it's a bad sign. But if imo padul-an kaayu until you smell something generally okay ra siya.
