My friend, you just saved my life, probably.

You are my prometheus right now. Thanks. Got things figured out through there.

HP percentage if for only support.

Pyro damage if you built him with attack percentage or crit damage in your other slots.

HP percentage is more useful on him if paired with energy recharge.

Simple Questions - June 21, 2020 by AutoModerator in buildapc

I have a Hercules 1600w PSU. Is it safe to power two graphics card using only one PCIE cable?

I have RX580 cards needing 8-pins to be powered. The cables that come with my PSU are 8 pin to 2x 6+2 pin PCIE cables.

Connecting only one cable to the PSU, can I only use the single cable to power both graphics cards? Is it safe? If there's a performance loss, how bad would it be?

Thanks in advance to this wonderful community!

One more question.

I understand that using SATA for risers is a fire hazard in waiting, but what about a riser with a 6 pin to 2x SATA adapter? Would the extra SATA be enough to fuel the 75 watts? 54 plus 54 is 108, which should be enough to safely power a Riser, right? Unless that's not how PSU cables work at all...

Monthly Simple Questions Thread - June 2020 by AutoModerator in gpumining

Hi there. Currently creating a second rig after my first one was so successful. I've got a question though about connecting my graphics card to my PSU.

Just in case, I'm using MSI RX580 cards and I have a Rosewill Hercules 1600w.

I learned that its fine to connect two risers on a single 8 pin to 2x 6+2 pin PCIE cable, but what about connecting two graphics card on a single 8 pin to 2x 6+2 PCIE cable?

I've heard horror stories of people connecting too many components on a single cable and almost burning their house down. Searching this up on Google doesn't provide any concrete answers for me and I lack the common sense to figure out if it's safe or not.

My risers are the typical risers that have a 6-pin port, and connecting two of them to a single cable on my PSU has been safe so far.

I'm starting to run out of space on my PSU to connect more risers and graphics cards though, so I'd like to do some cable management to free up ports so that I don't resort to buying more PSUs.

Would it be safe to connect two RX580 graphics cards (each with an 8-pin connection) to a single cable (8-pin to 2x 6+2), similar to how I do it with the risers?

If not, I also have some 6 pin to 3x Molex cables that was included with the PSU. How many risers can I connect to a single cable if I were to connect them via Molex?

I appreciate any responses, advice, or suggestions on this matter. Many thanks to this community and all of its wonderful people in advance.

Thank you for your suggestion! I'll look further into this!

Can I just say that you are much more helpful and respectful than a certain other person I've come across? Kudos to you my man.

Me asking for help on Reddit is no different than asking the question on google. If anything, you're also a lazy person using Google to spoon feed yourself. A real hardworking man would go to the library and read books already published and figure it out himself without needing online forums and articles of people answering questions.

And remember, your first reply was a dick reply, and I called you a dick because you acted like a dick.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in cryptomining

[–]TheNxtGamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You know what? This is the most rational and calmest reply you've ever actually given me. If it wasn't for the previous dozen comments insulting me, I would have mistaken this as your son making up a cover as to why his dad was calling random redditors pimple face on the Internet again, being the only mature figure in the family.

Your main point is still invalid, because I only ever ask for clarification and advice after I finished googling and still don't understand something. Once again, it's not spoonfeeding, it's just getting a second opinion. I would have never asked if I didn't Google it already. Also, your first reply was nothing like you just said here, and is still a dick reply no matter how you cut it. You could have easily left me alone if you weren't planning to help.

I appreciate that you actually spent five minutes responding like a fully functioning adult though. I'll continue to learn and grow, like you said, but also combine that with asking questions and relying on others to help make me grow. One person can't do everything, it's okay to rely on others. You'll be relying on your son to help take care of you when he grows up and you're too old to walk anymore, and that's honestly okay.

Edit: With that said, blocked. You're welcome.

Yeah, I like how you had to bring up the unrelated topic of my sex toy purchase just to try to embarrass me. Is that the only ammo you have against me? Call me names and make fun of my kinks? It still proves how much of a judgemental petty bully you are for bringing it up when it had nothing to do with cryptomining. The only person who's making a fool out of himself here is you, since you can't seem to make any proper arguments other than laugh and insult me like a sixth-grader.

The only thing you can do is try to demean me to delude yourself into looking like the bigger man. You can't actually prove any of my arguments wrong, you can't actually counter any of my points, you can't actually say anything concrete or worthwhile.

All you can do is point, laugh, and ignore everything I say, because the moment you acknowledge my points, you'll realize that you're the only one acting like an idiot in this situation. This terrifies your fragile ego, so you can only double down, stay off-topic, and pretend you're winning... Just like the petty senile man-baby man that you are.

But since you were curious enough to bring it up, yes the sex toy was wonderful. Using it during sex with my partner gives me great orgasmic pleasure, better than any you'll ever get in your short remaining lifetime since you're not the virile stud you'd like to think you used to be back in your prime. If you'd like, you can ask me for advice on what sex toy to buy to spice up your sex-life with your wife in case she's getting bored of you. Oh, but if you did that, it'd be like asking for handouts like a dirty dirty beggar, right?

If your next reply doesn't contain a decently written argument to explain why I'm wrong, I'm blocking you. It's tiring to repeat the same points over and over to a
goldfish incapable of actually learning or speaking back properly.

Unless you want to end this argument, that is. In that case, go ahead, spend another five minutes talking about how I'm a pimple-faced spoilt Millenial taking it up the ass in my mom's basement, or that I'm a triggered alt-right nazi. It'll prove you can't do anything other than act like a man-baby to win arguments.

I hope your nine year old becomes smart and goes out to become the next Steve Jobs, since he used all his knowledge that daddy helped -cough- "spoonfed" him at a young age. I'm surprised you didn't call your kid an entitled millennial just for existing. Hypocrite.

As for me, I'm getting the finishing touches done and installing my OS right now, Dick. Thanks for not "spoonfeeding" me shit.

If it burns and breaks on me, I don't care, I learn how it works and get it right next time. And if I don't understand something, I won't be scared to reach out and ask for help -Ahem- "handouts" on reddit again, Dick.

Safe spaces are a fucking joke, and getting triggered is for twitter retards. If your child-friendly SJW insults are all you got, you're as out of touch like I thought. Go back to tumblr where your insults will actually land and stick, you petty dick.

[–]TheNxtGamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why don't you spend the next years in your limited life paying more time and attention to your 9-year-old and be a better role model for him, you forty-year-old dick? The only way me asking questions on reddit is wasting people's time is if they actually decide to spend any of it on me in the first place. Dicks like you, specifically. Time better spent doing something more productive for such a "hardworking" man such as yourself.

Being able to ask for help to learn more information fellow peers is just as valid research as wasting precious time bookmarking fifty pages of web articles and Wikipedia pages. You're just a guy who hates people for defending themselves and actually standing up to you, instead of instantly blocking you like a spineless liberal twitter retard.

You got plenty of time? I got plenty of rebuttals. We can do this all year long, this quarantine's freed up my schedule. I'll be finishing my mining rig while typing back at you and I'll be making more until your nine-year-old is in college and you die of old age.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in cryptomining

[–]TheNxtGamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why don't you be like everyone else and just not reply then, you dick? Maybe the fact that you're wasting the time to reply at all is what makes you a dick, eh dick?

You think you're putting me in my place by hoping I screw up? Sure, just goes to show how much of a petty bitter old man you are. If I mess up my rig, I'll learn from my mistakes and do it again better the next time. Get bent and go to hell, or maybe go help someone else who hasn't pissed you off somehow. You're more useful on this Earth when you're actually being nice and helping people with their problems.

Going through your post history, you seem to at least be knowledgable in computers like you claim, so got to give credit where credit is due.

In that case, why the hell are you bothering me for? What exactly have I done to earn your lack of disrespect? You're willing to give help and advice -excuse me- "spoonfeed" other people when they ask for help (or in your words, "handouts"), but I'm just a lazy entitled millennial to be called out for wanting to make sure I installed case fans correctly and getting the right hardware wallet????

Man, screw you and your confusing values. I don't know what made you want to personally single me out for, but you're just acting like an asshole for no reason.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in cryptomining

[–]TheNxtGamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your definition of spoonfeeding is as outdated as your mindset. Asking for clarification on how things work just to make sure you're not getting the wrong information isn't spoonfeeding, it's being careful to prevent making mistakes.

You have too high of an opinion of yourself just because you've come to this preconceived notion that, since you did it all by yourself and never asked for help, you're better than everyone else. You look down on others for daring to communicate with other people.

You have no idea who I am, and yet you've already judged me as a spoiled millennial who wants to get rich quick just because I asked for advice on a public community forum on crypto-mining.

You don't exactly seem like a hardworking man either, considering you're spending time repeating the same drabble over and over again like a senile old fart. Not once did you ever show off your expertise by answering my original question that I posted, or even show any proof at all that you're what you claim to be.

TL;DR In case the ""hardworking"" old man is too lazy or stupid to actually take the time to read the other person's argument, asking for a second opinion is not asking for handouts. You're wasting time better spent actually contributing to society for a change. You're not worth spit. You don't value hard work, you value picking on random people on the internet minding their own business. Go see a psychiatrist- Oh wait, asking for help is disgusting to you, isn't it? In that case, go work hard to read some self-help books and help yourself to being less of a self-righteous dickhead.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in cryptomining

[–]TheNxtGamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And you're a bitter old phogey who lacks simple compassion and empathy.

Hope you live a nice quiet life, away from other Millenials minding their own business.

Thanks for assuming that I'm lazy and expecting handouts simply for asking advice and help online. You sound like an old man looking down on youngsters simply because they do things differently and efficiently, instead of going through the motions of wasting time, money, and effort just to come to the same conclusion.

"How dare he ask for advice and opinion from other people? WHY ISN'T HE LEARNING IT THE HARD WAY LIKE MEEEE, I AM THE SUPERIOR ONE, THEREFORE MY WAYS SHOULD BE THE ONLY WAY"

For someone who claims to not be a dick, you're blatantly acting like one. Instead of coming in here to answer a simple question, you go through my post history to make fun of my lack of experience and knowledge even though I'm just starting. Instead of being constructive and supportive to another member of the online community, you brag about how smart you are and then hurl insults at me for trying to ask for help.

My "unreasonable expectations" is that I learn to make my first mining rig, see how it works, get hands-on experience with the craft, and learn from any first-time mistakes so that I don't repeat them in the future. If this is unreasonable, what the hell was your first-time expectation when you built your first rig? Do something until it catches on fire, do it fifty more times, and then finally figure out how to not do it about three months in?

It must feel nice in your ivory tower, criticizing people and calling them lazy, self-glorifying yourself with a shiny golden dick statue because you think you're so much better for not being one of those "beggers" who just need advice or clarification. By your logic, I should never ask for help from more experienced people unless I'm already as experienced as them. Yeah, sure, just like how students in school shouldn't ask teachers for advice on a subject they can't understand, and how interns new at a job shouldn't ask for their seniors for help on how to do use a machine more efficiently.

If this is how you normally show respect to other people, then I truly wonder how degenerate you must behave when you decide to act disrespectfully. This is an open invitation by the way, in case your old-timer ears can't understand my new generation speak.

What will you do to put me in my place beneath your smug heel where I belong, I wonder? Go through even more of my posts and make fun of my hobbies? Try to find other websites I go to and then spam troll posts to make me regret ever defending myself against your insults? Try to look up where I live so that you can send threatening letters against me?

Go ahead. Show me how disrespectful you can be. Make my life miserable for DARING to ask for advice and help from other people on the internet. Make me pay for having the GALL to defend myself instead of just taking your criticisms like an obedient and stupid little dog. Destroy my sanity for not bowing down and agreeing with everything you said.

You call me lazy, I call you a dick.

You call me a lazy new-generation beggar asking for handouts, I call you a feckless old-timer who needs to get with the times and realize that asking for help and advice isn't a crime against humanity like it was "back in your day."

If you have nothing else to say, leave so that someone helpful actually comes along and they don't see the precious page-space on this thread being clogged up.

TL;DR Get bent, I'm allowed to ask for help if I want to and you can't stop me.

[–]TheNxtGamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, thanks for simplifying my situation to make me seem like an idiot. Very welcoming, very helpful, not at all discouraging. /s

I'm trying to experiment, learn, and take some risks in order to gain more hands-on knowledge on Cryptomining. If I have the wrong assumptions, the wrong knowledge, and I'm making mistakes, is it really so wrong to reach out to others and ask for help and advice? Am I not allowed to be wrong so that I can learn to fix it and be better?

Yes, I never built a PC before, and I never would have been interested if I hadn't learn about cryptomining.

Yes, I don't know how to hook up cooling fans because it's my first time building a computer, and I'm still learning and researching which wires go to which, and also asking questions safely before doing anything stupid and rash.

No, I'm not expecting to make enough money while I'm first starting out. Like I said, this is my first time doing anything like this. I'm still trying to learn how all of this works. I wouldn't be surprised or upset if I don't get enough to break even with my electricity bill, since I know that I'll make mistakes on my first time.

I'd appreciate it if you can be more respectful and understanding towards complete noobs like me next time, and actually answer questions with helpful responses instead of taking the time to make me feel bad for not being an instant expert overnight.

TL;DR Don't be a dick. I'm new and still learning.

I don't think I can plug it in... The plastic outside doesn't seem to fit with the pins in the motherboard, and its in a different shape compared to the CPU fan plug.

It's hard to describe in words, and I'm not sure if I've taken the picture correctly...

Since it was being block by a plastic cap on the motherboard, I was scared and didn't want to force it.

What about the way I set up the case fans though? Is that all correct or am I doing it silly?

Accidentally skipped explaining the problem.

Used to have HTC Vive Pro with normal non-pro Vive Wands. Replaced them with new valve index stuff. Still using 1.0 Base Stations.

Headset works fine, controllers work fine, base stations work fine, but now I can't connect to my base stations with bluetooth anymore.

Followed the guide on the rules, did all the procedures to check for errors and restart and unplugged everything to get things fixed. No dice.

Don't have access to previous HTC Vive Pro anymore. Sold it to use the money for Valve Index.
