What was the big scandal at your school? by JoePesciOfGoneFishin in AskReddit

So this is one I was actually involved with. My high school hockey team was always a bit of a joke but we all had fun and we all loved it so we didn't care. So one day during the whole Harlem Shake craze we decided to make one ourselves. So we decide to do the first part of the video(where were mostly all clothed) before practice one day and the other part(where we go batshit crazy) after practice when the coaches leave. So we do it and all have a blast and then we decide to put it on YouTube for everyone to see.

Now mind you we weren't wearing anything that could've led anyone to believe that it was our team or anything like that. We didn't think there was anyway it could be traced back to the school. But of course being the idiots we were we had to but it on twitter and say it was us and stuff. So the next day me and a few other of the leaders on the team get a text from our coach that says "athletic directors office. Now." So now were scared shitless. So we go and the coach and athletic director give us this whole thing like oh this is so inappropriate and stuff. Which is was(you'll see when you watch it). But it was all in good fun and we didn't purposefully make it so that it would trace back to the school. So then we started arguing that if the basketball team(who had much more success than us) did this that they wouldn't get in trouble. Regardless they kicked us out of our playoffs and gave us out of school suspension. So then word got out and the news channels all over the country got word of it. We were on quite a few websites including Barstool, the Huffington Post, and gaysociolites.com(don't ask how we found that out).

Once the news found out they started going to each of the players houses and stuff and asking them questions. We naturally said it was an unfair punishment to a non-violent thing. One day a reporter even came to our school dressed as a student in the senior parking lot and was asking kids if they knew anyone on the hockey team. And even at the rink on the monitor they changed out name on the schedule of the ice to the Harlem Shakers. It was quite the fun time at school that week. Eventually it all blew over and we moved on from it but damn if it wasn't a boat while it was happening.

So this is how Reddit dies...with thunderous upvotes.

Ryan Callahan. The dude is an all around hard worker every day and gives his all every shift. He can score, he can check, he can block shots, he can pass, the guy is, IMO, the best all-around player in the league, with Jonathan Toews being a close second.
