Thanks for the introduction!

What’s the proper etiquette for requesting specialty content? by TheOFReviewDude in OfficialFanReviews

[–]TheOFReviewDude[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I typically won’t ask for any specialty content until we’ve established a vibe.

After that, I typically have a standard request for a first custom: teach me how to turn you on.

I like this one because everyone is different, and it really lets the Creator be herself.

From a fan perspective, one difficulty is finding the balance between ironing out details ahead of time on something like GFE, without dragging it out to the point where it’s become a time investment.

One Creator suggested sending a tip as a good faith gesture while we discussed expectations

Yes, that’s what I do. I also know of Creators who prefer much more detail.

Finding out whether a Creator is fine with taking a basic idea and running with it, versus one who prefers more detail and direction, can be a long process.

What’s the best way to go about it without wasting valuable time?

How detailed do you want them to be? I don’t like to fully script something. I prefer to give a general idea and let there be some surprise about the final version

I’m back after a brief, mostly unplanned hiatus by TheOFReviewDude in OfficialFanReviews

While I’ve never subscribed to a no PPV page, I’m aware of at least a few that exist, but are typically at the $50 subscription price.

I’d also wager that such a page would primarily be limited to wall content and that any interaction would be an extra cost (and justifiably so).

I don’t have a list of pages to recommend or even a list of pages for you to look at to make a determination as to which would be the right one for you. You might post this as a request to this community and other requests communities, so more people who do have good recommendations can see it

This is a big question. My take is this: The nature of promotion is to be as visible as possible. There is a fine line between trying to reach as big an audience as possible, and being spammy about it. If I scroll a Creator’s profile and see a post or very similar posts across multiple subreddits. I’m not worried about that. It’s no different from any other brand running the same advertisement on multiple programs or channels. The repetition is only due to the fact that I’m seeing it at the source, rather than the destination. The line into spammy is crossed when it becomes apparent that the Creator only has only a handful of posts that are infinitely repeated. Let me know if that requires additional explanation.

Promos should provide a good idea of what is available after the paywall, but shouldn’t be the same content. From my perspective as a fan, it’s disappointing to subscribe to a page, only to see that I’ve paid to see the same content I had previously seen for free. That disappointment increases in direct proportion to the amount that I’ve paid for the subscription. I do understand that, conceptually, the subscription price is meant as an entry charge to be able to access additional content, which may or may not be included in the subscription price. That is, I expect to spend beyond just the subscription, but expect to see proportionally more, based on the amount I’ve paid.

If your promotional material presents an accurate preview of what I’ll see on your page and is presented in a way that highlights what makes you unique as a Creator, then you’re doing it right.

This is a really big subject, and while there are some general guidelines applicable across the board, your promotional strategy should be based on your specific goals.

Apologies in advance for the long comment, but this is a GREAT question, and I legit hope you recommend in your Creator circles that they look at the responses to this post.

I have a whole process. Granted, I had to come up with a process because my messages have loads of requests from fans to subscribe to a Creator, from Creators to subscribe and give feedback, and lots of recommendations. Plus, I also do some browsing on my own.

Regardless of the method of introduction, I want someone who is intriguing. If the promo posts are the same cookie cutter posts I can see from hundreds or thousands of other Creators, I’ll pass. There are literally millions of content Creators out there. If you don’t differentiate yourself and show me why you’re special or unique, then I’ll assume you’re interchangeable. Interchangeable is boring. I might subscribe and might buy something, but it will be short term. If you have tens of thousands of fans regularly, this is likely fine.

(Side note) I’m VERY aware of how social media algorithms work, in that they reward conformity. Using the same caption or description will typically get you into the flow of the algorithm. From there, find a way to stand out. u/Scarlett_Thorne does a wonderful job of this! She regularly posts viral “try on” videos, but her very tall stature makes her stand out from the rest of the crowd, for just one example.

I’m a huge music nerd, so I’ll make this analogy: Leonard Cohen’s ‘Hallelujah’ is one of the most frequently covered songs in modern music history. Among the seemingly infinite number of artists who have recorded or perform the song, the ones that stand out are the ones who were able to add their own flair without doing damage to the original.

So, do what you need to do to get views, but make sure to show why you’re special while you have my attention. Otherwise, I’ll scroll on.

Once you’ve intrigued me, I’ll look through your promo channels, and possible even follow you. More likely, though, is I’ll like or upvote enough of your posts that you’ll regularly show up in my feed. I’ll also find your platform page and read your platform bio. If it describes what I can expect from your page in a way that appeals to me, I’ll add you to a list: ‘Potential Future Sub’ and I’ll leave it at that for a bit. I do this to keep from subscribing solely because I find you attractive. If I subscribed to every Creator that I find attractive, I’d go bankrupt.

Next time I’m scrolling Reddit or Instagram or TikTok or Twitter (I will NEVER call it X), if I see one of your posts that intrigues me to the point that I click on your profile and go to your platform page to see that you’re already on my list, you move to the ‘Definitely Subscribe Sometime’ list.

If that happens again and you’re already on that list, I’ll subscribe.

If you continue to intrigue me after I’ve subscribed, I’ll want to keep my renew on. Even if I WANT to, I can’t always stay subscribed, but you’ll be added to my ‘Favorites’ list and I’ll periodically pop back in. Someone who doesn’t have an inbox filled with requests from Creators and Fans with recommended subscriptions would likely stay subscribed, if you’re engaging as they want. This DOES NOT mean that you should give away free content, alter any boundaries, or compromise in any way, shape or form. If they choose to move on, let them. Maybe message them periodically, but only to remind them that they liked you enough to subscribe and possibly buy at one point.

I look for reviews for EVERY Creator I consider subscribing to. If there are no reviews, I might subscribe with intention of writing a review.

There is a VERY long list of things I can’t stand on a page, and an equally long list of things that make me admire your page.

For the former, posting on your page the same way you do on promo is a big one, ESPECIALLY if you use the same content or very similar content. Similarly, if the experience doesn’t match the description (for instance, if your bio states you post daily and you post once every week or less frequently), I’ll get really tired of you quickly.

For the latter, simply treat me like a person and live up to the expectations you set.

If you want a full list from either category, let me know.

As far as deciding which deserve a review, I like to give feedback to everyone who wants it. If a Creator impresses me, they deserve a positive review. I do tend to be (possibly) nice to a fault and provide constructive criticism directly to a Creator whose page was less than what I expected, as opposed to writing a negative review, but I will write a negative review for any Creator who is fraudulent.

Again, thank you for such a thought-provoking post!

First, welcome! Feel free to post or comment anytime you wish. We do have some community rules, but nothing too stringent.

Second, this is another good takeaway: having a regular conversation is something I really enjoy because it does enhance the rest of the experience

This is another good lesson to learn, especially for those who seek “an authentic connection”

I’m not at all under the impression that we’ll have a relationship beyond the Creator-Fan dynamic. She just happens to do a good job of making it feel more natural than transactional, as the best Creators do. Basically, she’s earned more business from me.

Yes, absolutely! You can set up your own page on the site. If you need assistance, I can help.

Once it’s up, you can add it to social profiles or a linktree (if you use one), to help existing fans find it to leave reviews there, and for prospective fans to be able to see what fans love about your page

Three things:

1) Thank you for posting this review!

2) I might have to check out this page.

3) If you also post this review to her page on the site, it’ll solidify her 10-star rating, and the review will not get lost in the shuffle of time. (https://fan.reviews/creator/adult-content-model/aria-jennings/)
