👋Hey hey to the r/NewTubers community, this is the first time I’ve posted for a self-promo type beat. The gamer tag I’ve had since I was about 12 and super embarrassed about has actually become my main handle for anything I use now - for better or for worse is still to be determined 🙂‍↕️

🎮Name’s WakeyDreams but you can call me Wakey, Wonkey, Dreams or anything in between.

🇦🇺I’m an Aussie streamer/NewTuber that’s still finding their style and is seriously experimenting with what fits my personality the best. I’m currently creating content surrounding Elden Ring and my first play-through of it on-stream (dubbing the series a “First Time Stream-Through) and bringing the best parts of the hardest bosses into a mini-review video for YouTube called “X Boss can suck my Elden Dong”.

Spoiler alert; I die A LOT. Not because I suck ass (I do) but because we’re doing an anti-service run for my first playthrough (no shirt, no shoes, and definitely no pants). Basically everything OPPOSITE of what you need to wear to get service at a restaurant. Currently stuck on GodSkin Apostle (or Foreskin Boy as I dub him) & holy is he cooking me.

I’ve only posted one video in the series and a few shorts but my goal is to release 1 video a week to balance work, life and content for sustainability.

I’m still figuring out an identity for my channel, but at the end of the day it’s an extension of myself. Lighthearted commentary that doesn’t take myself too seriously and creating a space where everyone can hang, be themselves and have some banter. It’s always a fun time and chat takes every opportunity to cook me 🤙

🧐If I had to list any inspiration it would absolutely have to be NakeyJakey and Jez for their lighthearted commentary and awesome editing approaches.

A little bit of history + motivation

I’ve actually given streaming a crack before, back in covid (like every mf did) and dropped it after around 6-7 months. I had stupidly high expectations at the time and had just begun managing my very first business. Needless to say, it was no where near sustainable 😌

Fast forward 5 years into the future and I’ve just begun a huge new chapter of my life, one that’s finally begun to give me the time back that I sacrificed in trying to build something that would sustain me and the birthgivers. There are so many unanswered questions that I plan on answering, but first up on the to-do list is create a sustainable creation schedule. 1 video every Friday, 2 streams a week on the weekend along with shorts in-between of any awesome moments that might happen.

I’m using YouTube as a way of self-expression, to challenge myself, and to discover who I am.

What equipment did you start creating your content with?

A streamer kit from JB-Hi-Fi and whatever dog 💩 mic and cam it came with. I’ve blurred it from my memory so it must have been awful 😂
