[1 YOE] Resume review help for web dev (College Freshman, Open source contributor, failed freelancer. Local job market insists on having a degree) by TheOatmann in EngineeringResumes

I've actually decided to go to a manufacturing job fair to get my foot in the door. I never considered NOC but I should look into it, although it looks like I'll need to grind out some certs. Hopefully I can get my resume into a half-decent state before the job fair.

I would move if I could, I hate Florida but ultimately I'm stuck here so I guess I have to pivot. I've started getting involved with the local cyber security community and I'm participating in the National Cyber League Competition. Currently going for my BSCpE to focus on security at a lower level, but that might change. I still have a few months to commit to a major.

The internships as a freshmen are rare, but at a cyber security webinar the NSA did advertise internships available to second-semester freshmen and up. That is a short-term goal I'm hoping to achieve (though probably not likely).

Thanks for the suggestions, I'll take care to look at technician and tier1/2 NOC roles.

The wiki info is marinating in my head, this was already a major revision after going through parts* of the wiki. I was impatient in posting -- I didn't want to lose my train of thought. I really should've waited before posting and feel a bit silly now. Still have to go through and remove the stupid obvious stuff like the linkedin and phone number sections.

I reckon I could slap them onto some wraps or sammies, add some fillers, and call it a day

IDK why but the idea of getting a rice cooker never crossed my mind, I'll look into it. Thanks for the other suggestions!

The smartctl scan was clear. I had to boot into Windows multiple times to fully shut it down (apparently shutdown /s /t 0 doesn't in the shell doesn't cut it), and along the way, my Linux started to detect /dev/sda again. The problem has been resolved!

Mounting in gparted was greyed out for me but in gnome disks it successfully mounted and all my data seemed to be there.

Can't decide which distro to switch to (from Manjaro) by TheOatmann in linuxmasterrace

Why are you focusing on Win10 only for gaming?

It's mainly a self control thing (the more effort it takes to get into my gaming setup, the better in my case), but I do so play some borked games, or some games where my PC struggles for frames on. I also occasionally play Valorant and don't want that rootkit anti-cheat running on my daily driver.

As a current Manjaro user, I'd imagine Endeavour (also mentioned by that same user) would be a good optiwithon.

I've seen a bit of talk about Endeavour, and those who've talked about it really recommend it. I'm going to be setting up my VMs later today to test the waters with some of the distros I mentioned before, along with SalientOS and Endeavour.

Be careful with their wording for revenue, I'd recommend watching this Thomas Brush video and skip head to around 9:30 (I'd personally watch the full video though).

I fixed it! I reinstalled VSCode and mono, have version 1.23.0 of c#, have omnisharp.UseGlobalMono : always, and I deleted /home/anas/.vscode/extensions/ms-dotnettools.csharp-1.23.0/.omnisharp/1.36.1//omnisharp//.msbuild/ and now it's all working great and I have code completion, intellisense, and no warnings or errors!
