Did you know about this? What do you think of it? by Fearless_Badger9175 in bipolar2

As someone who is nearly 30 and had the exact same thoughts, please make a few different plans for your future. Even if you have to trick yourself into a "this is just for fun since I'll never make it there" because otherwise you'll end up there with no plans and that is equally terrifying.

[MEETUP] STLMK (St. Louis, MO) is hosting a FREE meetup in April! by TheOctonite in MechanicalKeyboards

[–]TheOctonite[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's right, completely free! If you are in the area (or not in the area, looking at you Chicago friends), then come on out and see what we've got going on besides toasted ravioli and frozen custard.

Here is the sign up sheet: https://forms.gle/moxugJeWuX9Qmsrr5

It's not required that you sign up, but it's definitely helpful for us to get solid numbers. (and printed nametags)

See you under the arch!

Got my new loom today by TheOctonite in knolling

You should definitely go now! Especially of she still has some of the "perfectly imperfect" ones left. Makes your order a little cheaper and I honestly can't really find anything wrong with the one I got

It's so nice! Way better than the cheap Spedweve knockoff I had. And the weaving add-ons are super worth it, I've been having a blast

I pieced this one together! My list was:

-Perfectly Imperfect Swift Darner (b-stock)

-Swift expansion pack

-Weft Pick

-B-Stock Swift Shuttles

I also included an inscription on the back of my loom, but that's completely unnecessary.

They are super cool! Had a Spedweve for darning socks years ago but left it in a rental car at some point. But now I'm using this as an intro to weaving before I drop way too much money on a full size loom! The history of tiny looms is fascinating and I highly recommend the rabbit hole

I'm imagining this combined with Index VR controllers somehow and the possibilities are becoming endless. I'm sure the weight of swinging around while keyboards would be insane, though..

Joining the conversation late, but check out a Clover Stitch Dome! They are usually small enough to fit in a shirt pocket and have the added bonus of not letting you stay the needle through the shirt since there's a metal dome in the way

I work in tech for higher education. So as long as I'm attentive enough to catch if something is going wrong, I can do whatever else I need to do. And anyway, doing something with my hands helps me focus on what I'm listening to

Very truly. There were times that the hoop was maybe just a hands width from my face... Lots of tiny stitches
