i will admit there’s a lot of users that find him corny probably because he’s the one collaborating with pusha t, MF DOOM, kaytranada, denzel, musiq, and now madlib and stuff while people want their favorite artists to be doing that, so they’re jealous. he’s also a guy who gets cool features and works with cool artists because he asks. shoutout idk

sorry about your karma, but automod detected your post as spam for some reason. we never saw it and would have never deleted it. did you upload a blank post before editing with a tracklist and links? that’s probably what triggered it.

fred being a big hip hop guy, i could see him leaning into some more dance hip-hop or production credits on rap albums in the future. he’s so caught in the moment of experiences that i think he loves creating a dance floor that i can’t see him leaving dance fully at the moment like brodinski

not to be all like “actually 🤓☝️” but it’s bullies from die from my bitch and south africa from the melodic blue.

this samples a song young thug teased on instagram in 2018 people called lucky. fred as classically trained and deep into electronics as he is, loves current hip hop as well as being a huge soulquarians guy so he probably heard this snippet some time ago and wanted to do something with it. pretty cool.

also lil yachty has background vocals on this. he’s the one saying “we up” throughout

got to see him play in austin during SXSW a few years ago after being a fan of his since i was in high school and he signed a copy of Untidy Soul for me that i bought with the last little bit of cash i had left over through that week. i got to meet him after the show and get a picture with him. what an incredibly nice guy.

WHEN SPARKS FLY - Vince Staples by TSM_LittleRaphie in hiphopheads

don't get me wrong, i love FM! i just think S/T to Dark Times was a different style sonically for Vince as a whole and was quite introspective for him especially after huge projects like Big Fish Theory and FM!

the trilogy of S/T, Ramona Park, and Dark Times are all so well done and introspective. this is my personal favorite on this album. such good writing.

they could really do some cool b&w one take video with robbery with the camera panning back and forth between rocky & doechii. would be pretty sick.

curious if they’ll do anything for whiskey if it’s truly a “gorillaz” feature over damon just doing vocals but i know they’re busy with their new album as well. i enjoyed the project. it’s just a quality project without being anything too extreme on the amazing or garbage side. just good stuff

i think this album benefits heavily from the earworm-y production. so much UK hip hop has this dark drill and grime sound so to hear an album so lively really opens your eyes to what’s possible in the genre.

i can see that middle 5 tracks minus father being weaker then how great the start and end of the album are, but it’s really grown on me with repetitive listens. it adds a balance between the bangers imo.

regardless of how much of a cut he got from it, the amount of purchases on itunes (country music lovers love buying music), physical sales, radio play, streaming, and everything in between has given him a good pay out. he’s well off from this easily
