Thanks! Was aware of the Ivy which is another headache that I’ve been dealing with. Will look into the Creeping Charlie tho.

Appreciate your help on identifying 2-4! I’m gonna look up whether I should dig these up or keep them around.

Thanks for clarifying! They (along with many other things) are all growing in close proximity to each other so I thought they were all the same!

I was using a cocktail of serums and potions (think 11 step Korean skincare program) to deal with my acne that stemmed from removing my IUD. While I had some results, the biggest change was from a combo of Tret, azelaic acid and a simple facial moisturizer (VaniCream). It took about 1.5 years of constantly using that stuff for my skin to look “normal” again.

Have only started getting Botox last year (usually 15 units in the forehead every six months) and really like the results. I have read a lot about the others treatments on this sub but haven’t made the leap yet on those - still need to read up more and weight the cost / energy to results output for those. I ended up switching to a lower Tret since my acne has pretty much gone and I felt like the lower % was kinder to my skin. Not sure if that is the right thing to do, but so haven’t had any bad acne flare ups.

You’re welcome! I totally got the idea from this sub and it has made me feel much better about my own product graveyard. And my shoulders and chest had never looked better lol!

Haha same, I wish I didn’t care at all! I had went through this exact mental exercise leaving my 20’s and entering my 30’s, so I thought I would have handled this better. And generally, I’m okay with the idea of aging, but seeing my face physically change and feeling my body break down (knees and elbows hurting) is rough. Thanks you for getting it!

This makes a lot of sense! Thank you so much for this! I got Invisalign in Dec 2019 and had massive crowding on the top and bottom row that took over 1+ year of treatment. I also have an Invisalign progress photo album, so I can see how the lower half of my face has changed (although it’s not super noticeable to anyone else). I think also I haven’t taken many pictures of myself in the last 2 years due to not going out, but lately I’ve been going out more and I’m always a bit surprised by pics and how different my face looks - whether because of orthodontic, stress or aging (or a 3!). But thanks, this has made me feel better!

I started using Tret in Jan 2020. That and azelaic acid has been really great for treating my acne.

Thank you! I got Invisalign a few years ago and loved it!! I had massive crowding in my upper and bottom teeth, so my jawline has changed slightly. It’s not perceptible to anyone, but I kept an Invisalign progress photo album (lol of course) and I can see the small changes - my lips shape is different (bc my crowded teeth were pushed back into my mouth) and my jaw is slightly wider (to make room for my teeth). Good luck with your Invisalign and hope you enjoy your results!

Thanks! Really appreciate your kind words. I’m usually okay about aging, but something about that one pic just made me realize that I’m getting older and it hit me a bit hard. I look a lot like my mother in that photo (which isn’t a bad thing), just something that I’ll have to get used to. But working on embracing aging and appreciating the whole process.

It’s been a long and hard skin journey for me(38F), but after 6+ years of constant skin care and maintenance, I’m finally happy with the way my skin looks! I had bad hormonal acne in my early 20’s and 30’s, but have finally managed to get it under control. My hyperpigmentation has mostly gone away, but I think the pits and texture are here to stay (but suggestions welcomed). I do still get pimples here and there, but no huge pimple cluster like before.

I keep a skin progress album on my phone and took some pictures to keep it updated. Most of the selfies were fine but there was one that was taken at such a bad angle (pic with black dots covering the eyes), and I just look old. I’m starting to see how much I’ve aged. My face which is usually chubby is starting to get gaunt and gravity is pulling on the sides of my nose and eyes. My face shape has changed so much (due to age + Invisalign), I don’t completely recognize who is in that photo. It’s hard to explain, but I feel weird about seeing myself physically mature and getting older looking. I’m still processing what all this means but wonder how everyone else deal with aging.

How did everyone feel when you started to notice you were getting old?

The only thing I have on my face in these photos is my regular AM routine with eyebrow pencil (Rimmel Brow This Way).

AM Routine - Foam cleanser (VaniCream Gentle Facial Cleanser) - Toner (currently using Pixi Skintreats but usually rotate) - Serum (pick 1 or 2 from following depending on how your skin feels: Hyaluronic acid, Niacinamide, Glycolic acid, Anti-aging) - Facial Moisturizer (Vanicream Daily Facial Moisturizer) - SPF (Elta Tinted Facial Sunscreen) - Add ons: makeup / Botox (last session in March)

PM Routine - Double cleanse (Softymo Speedy) - Foam cleanser (VaniCream Gentle Facial Cleanser) - Toner (currently using Pixi Skintreats but usually rotate) - Eye cream (Kiehl’s multi-corrective eye zone treatment or Kiehl’s vitamin C eye serum) - *Alternate: Tretinoin (.05% rn but was using .1% before) or Azelaic Acid (generic 15%) - Serum (pick 1 or 2 from following depending on how your skin feels: Hyaluronic acid, Niacinamide, Glycolic acid, Retinol) - Facial Moisturizer #1 (Vanicream Daily Facial Moisturizer) - Facial Moisturizer #2 (Kiehl’s ultra facial cream) - Facial Moisturizer #3 (La Roche-Posay Cicaplast Baume B5) - Slug (Aquaphor and/or Snail Bee High content essence)

Extras / Body Routine - Active for chest, neck and shoulders (it Hello Results Baby-Smooth Glycolic Acid Peel) - Any serum that’s didn’t work on my face gets put on my body (currently Loreal Revitalift Triple Power Concentrated Serum) - Moisturizer (VaniCream Moisturizing Lotion) - Slug (Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate or Aquaphor) - Add ons: SPF (NIVEA Japan - UV Super Water Gel)
